    We still looking for some artisans:
    If you like the mod idea and you think you have some skills, or want to learn it, post your message/skills here.
    There is also some free positions for factions historians (see factions thread).

    We still need modellers for the mod,
    mappers,
    skinners,
    2d graphicans,
    modders.

    Dont forget, its some work to be part of a mod team, but its very cool to be some of the first, can play a new mod, while others only wait!

    How to get into team:

    1- First post a message here what possition would would like to help
    2- You will be get into team in some steps: please understand we only let people into the dev-forum that have been accepted and shown some work for the mod.
    3- PM me or the co-leaders for some work to show.
    4- if you are already an accepted team member, please check 'To all team members:' here in thread to apply for inner dev-group
    5- at last all team members should check once a week this mods subforum to keep in touch with the development process and the other team members.
    6-Have fun and happy modding!


    For Head-of-Faction Leaders:

    Head of Factions are in our mod responsible for all things related to that faction
    It's >>YOUR-FACTION<<.
    You are the one that is in charge of all aspects, but this on the other hands give you a wide degree to define how the faction should be.
    This includes
    1-All starts with the propper
    name: We use the native names of a faction (everywhere the game engine dont crashes with it).
    Open a thread here, name the 'faction: '... (put the english name in parentesis behind like you can see in the stickies theads above).
    2-Define your lands, name, cities/castles.
    3-It helps if you can post some maps for it to define the territory, or better try to paint it directly in map_regions.tga.
    4-Name your king/queen and his/her family.
    5-Try to write a faction description.
    6-Define what are the factions objectives and how hard you think it would be to archive them (difficult level).
    7-Now it comes to the units: Try to think twice what units are really needed. But if you have them post all infos we need to get them done. Post some images of that units if possible.
    Define how costy/elite they are.
    8-Check and contact other mods if they already have such units (this would speed up our building process).
    9-Post a list of possible names and lastnames for that faction.

    I may join, it had bee cool to do some work. I'm from Norway, and now the history. I can make map, or someting. So, am I needed?

    Mod is based on this map:
    IceTorque's BI-WarMap II (5.94 MB) http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...do=file&id=844
    Since only minor changes have been made (except the regions.tga (countries) file), it may make sense to use it as a base resource.

    I tried to expand the map to the north (only on north, no change else) to have the whole Scandinavia in game, but sadly failed (its the main prob on mapping, too much files where only pixels need to go wrong to get a CTD and no error message)

    Maybe you can be more successful?
    Can you try to bring the rest of Norge in?

    To all team members:

    Go on 'my Account' after you logged in,
    then on the right down 'Miscellaneous', 'Group Memberships',
    you should find 'Developer: Viking Total War' in the list of groups there, then 'Join Group'.
    I will add you on developer list then, so you can see and read our developer (intern) board here.

    Please understand I will add only team members that have shown some work for the mod,
    also you should be able to check this modforum (minimum) once a week (unless you told you are some days off), to keep in touch with the other team members and make sure user questions of your work/faction can be answered.

    To prevent I'm going to become a bottleneck, I think it makes sense to promote two team members to co-leaders of the mod.

    Co-leaders should be able to help to organisize things, have good communicational skills and be able to spend some time at last on two days a week for the mod.

    If you are already a team member and want to apply for that seat, please PM me.

    OK, that was fast, already two signed!

    We have two co-leaders now, will help me in organisation things and driving the mod forward:

    Welcome Dr. Croccer, GodlyAvatar on the HOT co-leader seats.
    (Both are early helpers, so I'm sure the seat is not too hot)

    We have some heads of factions, successfully opened their faction-threads. Those faction-leaders should be asked on things that relate the factions of the mod, please contact them directly or in their threads:

    Dansk viking for the Danmaurk (Danes)
    Diarmuid for the Gaelic (Irish)
    Rædwulf Cyning for the Saxons (West Seaxe), Mercia, Northumbria(rebels), other Saxons(rebels)
    chernorizec
    for the Bulgars (will come soon)
    GodlyAvatar for the Pictavia (Picts)
    Dr. Croccer for the Basileia tōn Rōmaiōn (Byzantines) and al-‘Abbāsīyūn (al-Abbasid)
    Romanman for Faction: Francia

    Heads of factions can recruit helpers to get their faction done.
    If you have more than one faction, you also can recruit a head for that faction later if you think you need it.
    To prevent to much mixture I think every (playable) faction should have an own thread, rebels of the faction can be stuffed in that faction thread.

    Dont forget, if you are part of the faction head team, but your name or faction is not here yet, it may only because you have not moved in yet,

    I will. But i'll finish the preliminary bits of the Picts first, then move on to Morava.

    Looks like we got some important steps forward today.

    @sindrefyrn, if it works to expand the map to the north (scandinavia), please PM me, or post in map-thread. I will put you in as our official mapper and I suggest you will get much +rep (the golden rings under your avatar) from the team, especial from all the fans of the north factions .

    If things don't work, PM me too, no problem, but you may get no rep from team then .

    hey do you guys need any help in the history department, i've been researching anglo-saxons for the past 2 years of my life i know much of their history, culture, and some of their langauge. I also have a huge source of information since i go to my library nearly everyday. even if you don't need me please continue making this mod because i'll want to play it

    We still could need historians for the following factions:
    Francia,
    Lotharingia,
    Ostfranken,
    al Andalus
    Asturia/Galicia
    Magyars
    Khazars
    Maybe Svedes

    On the British factions you could ask our heads of factions if they need help, or (if they have more than one faction) they want to give one of them to you.

    You are always welcome, to discuss things in mod threads, tell your opinions.

    Ever tried such hard core things like skinning, or modeling?

    Ah, you're our junior modder, that will mean a lot of work for you, especial if you are going to put all our stuff from RTW/BI to make a RTW version.

    Keep in mind, to be a modder is a very important task!

    Dr.Croccer is head of faction of Byzantines and Abbasins, sure you can help him in his thread, maybe he also might give one faction away, but I would suggest to leave some work for the guys cant do modding?

    I think its important that team members have not too much different jobs, I want to prevent members burn out, but have enough time, so they can focus on their tasks

    hey can I ask you guys a question, why not just focus on scandinavia, france, britain and some of germany???(do you guys have a game map yet that i could look at) you could include factions such as the Northumbrians the cornish, and east anglians

    and also if I was to join the team and help you guys with the history, can you guys give me a job description? would I report to anyone?
