    Default BC 1.0: Quick Fixes

COMPILATION OF SOLVABLE BROKEN CRESCENT 1.0 Issues
    -------------------------------------

ANIMATIONS FIX FOR ELEPHANT AND OTHER ISSUES

This fix is for people who have problems running units with BC animations (elephants, pikeman,...)

This fix will resolve the CTD caused when loading battle with units with BC animations. It is also known to resolve some of the start-up CTDs.
The problem is caused by vanilla animations which are loaded first. I am not sure of a .cfg script which could resolve this, so we will swap the BC animation files to vanilla animation folder instead.

    Process:

    1. Go to BC animation folder in Medieval II Total War\Broken_Crescent\data\animations

    2. Copy these 4 files:
    pack.dat
    pack.idx
    skeletons.dat
    skeletons.idx

    3. Go to vanilla animation folder in Medieval II Total War\data\animations

    4. Paste the 4 files you copied earlier into vanilla animation folder. This will overwrite the vanilla files. Make backup if you wish; BC animaitons are compatible with other mods and vanilla.

    5. Now, go back to BC animation folder (Medieval II Total War\Broken_Crescent\data\animations) and delete the 4 files from above.

WINDOWS VISTA AND GENERAL "FATAL ERROR" FIX

Some users, that use Vista and even ones that don't have been reporting a "fatal error" upon loading BC.

To fix this issue simply install BC 1.0 as usual but add the following step:

    1) Download at http://www.twcenter.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=31942&d=1235866029

    2) Unzip file into C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\ and replace the existing .cfg file.

All credit goes to loet66 for fixing the recurring vista crash.

    STEAM USERS FIX

If you have purchased Medieval 2: Total War using steam, you might be having difficulty getting Broken Crescent to run! (or any mod for that matter)

IE: The desktop shortcut that BC creates doesn't actually bring you to BC, or any other crazy solution you may have thought up.

    FIX:

Go to your games list, and right click M2TW.
Click "Properties", and select Launch Options.

    When here, type "@bc.cfg".
    (no quotes)

To go back to vanilla, remove this entry.

    MISSING INTERFACE AND OPTIONS TEXT

Some people are experiencing a total absence of text on the basic options and tabs while playing BC. This is the solution to this, if you suffer the problem:

    1) Unpack another campaign (crusades preferable)

    2) Make backup of your crusades (to put it back)

    3) Go to the text folder (crusade's)

    4) Copy everything

    5) Paste everything in the broken_crescent text folder

    6) Say NO to ''replace already existing file?''

    7) Only the missing text files will be pasted

I have updated the link for the NON-ENGLISH GAMES SOUND FIX, so that Makuria no longer remains silent.

Don't forget to delete the events.dat and events.idx in your Medieval II Total War\broken_crescent\data\sounds folder.
