Wallachia is composed of 5 regions, which we have named:
    #. City - Province
    1. Severin – Zara Severeun/Ţara Severinului/Banat (one of these).
    2. Argeş – Argeş (we might rename the city "Curtea de Argeş")
    3. Craiova - Oltenia
    4. Tārgoviste – Cāmpia Dāmboviţei (literally: Dambovita Plains)
    5. Brăila - Muntenia
    1. Severin and Banatul de Severin (because Vladislav Vlaicu, Mihail I and Mircea cel Batran had the title of Ban de Severin, and we even have mentioned a ban of Severin during Mircea's reign - a jupan Vladislav in a document from 1389.)
    4. Tārgoviste – Cāmpia Dāmboviţei, (maybe better just Dāmboviţa, like the county. A name could be Codrii Vlasiei, although the forest was located further to the SE, in the area of Bucharest-Ploiesti)
    5. Brăila - Muntenia (Muntenia is the whole are E of river Olt. A better name would be Baragan, a name with cuman roots, so probably this term was knew in Wallachia of XIV c.)

According to this map, Wallachia doesn't start with Severin.

That map is in the late 13th century, at least 50 years before the start of the game!! You'll also notice that Wallachia and Moldova are "Kunorszag" (a.k.a Cumania) since they didn't exist as unified states during this map's time (though Wallachia obviously does by 1330). The map kind of simplifies the political situation, because even in 1290, the region was not one state of "Banat of Severin" but in fact a series of smaller voievodships ruled by Barbat, Litovoi, Seneslav etc. [Diploma of Joanite Knights, 1247] who were to a nominal extent Hungarian protectorates, but as is attested, often fought against the Hungarian king (as Litovoi did). Litovoi's successor and brother, Barbat, did become a Hungarian vassal after losing in the uprising in 1279, and in 1285 he's still shown as ruling "Litua's Country" (Litovoi's country).

The date that Basarab takes Severin is not entirely known, though it has to be between 1330 (when it is taken by Charles of Anjou who places a noble, Dyonisus, as the Ban of Severin) and 1345 (when Basarab is shown in Hungarian documents as ruler of Severin). Chances are Basarab retook it sooner rather than later, given the defeat of the Hungarian invading army at Posada, which would have left Severin undefended, save for a small garrison. Note that Basarab was ruling over Severin before 1330 as well, otherwise there would be no point in Charles installing Dyonisius on the throne of Severin.

Great list man! I'll sort through them, see which ones we don't already have, and add them to the names list.

Some names however, we might exclude. For example, I don't think we'll have "inecatul" as a surname, since that really was only given to one guy because he ran his horse into a river while he was drunk and drowned! The bynames for regions outside of Wallachia probably won't be added (Timisoara etc.) or we'll just use one name ("Din Ardeal") for those regions.

Yes, I know Timisoara is actually in Banat.

Ok. I know that some names may be excluded, and a part of them can be new. I also don`t know exactly when a name has been adopted, so we can remove the ones from renaissance and modern era. There are also names like din Hotin, Baia etc which can be used at Moldavia.

Your list with boyar names is very good Mircea, I will make a new list of romanian names only with yours, and some new female names from the wifes of some rulers, cause they are few.
I am wondering if there can be added some hungarian names, cause the two nations haved some links.
And the names from the roman empire like Ovidiu, Augustus, Constantin, Cristina (at byzantines) and others can be added?
