Sorry for another silly question, but what is a seeder?

As I understand it, when someone has downloaded the file they become a seeder, and they are used to help speed up the downloads?

Am I automatically seeding or do I have to select whom I am seeding from?

It is totally automatic. You don't select or do anything. Basically, you start downloading via utorrent, and just leave it on for as much time as possible.

Simple as that. Everything else is automatic. The more seeders = stacked up and super high download speeds for downloaders.

Am I doing something wrong? My ETA is ranging from about 2 days to a week, my download speed occasionally spikes up into the single digits, and I'm at .2%. My seeds say 2 (5) (though it was 0 (5)). What is going on? In case you can't tell, I've never used a torrent before.

And don't think you're free from when is it coming out questions. Cuz I'm waiting for 1.1. You're not getting off that easy

EDIT: Perhaps I was a tad hasty in my freakout. Am now running close to 50kB/s with an estimated time of around 5 hours. I guess it just needed time to get going. But hey, BC lust knows no patience.

EDIT TAKE 2: Forgot to mention: you guys are screwing for my AP US History test tomorrow! Hmmm... read about the South after the Civil War... Conquer the world... what do you think I'm gonna pick?

You could try to "update tracker", though the best solution is patience. It may seem paltry at first but as people start becoming seeders (uploading the file) the rates will only increase.

Failing that, you can stick around until I get direct uploads running.

As long as people seed then it should not take long to download. Don't worry if it says 2 weeks or a stupidly long time it will speed up. You may need to leave it over night to download (and scive school/ work to play it - it will be worth it).

So just sit back, relax, think about the fun you will have playing it, let it download and play (and seed!)
