davide, I have to say I don't understand your attitude. Would you play a mod written in Russian or Mongolian? I think you have to remember that this is an English language site, and the one language we all have in common is English.
I've been following CB for a long time, and you have created some amazing units and really extraordinary graphics -- for many months I was very excited to try the mod. But I'm not going to play a mod that's in Italian, because I don't speak a word of your language. So I have not even downloaded it. I'm just patiently waiting for a version in English.
I
want to play it, I'm
excited about it, but until I can understand it, I won't play it. There's just too much text in this game to make it playable in a foreign language.
I think you have maybe put more emphasis on things that are only marginal improvements (like the texture of river water) and not nearly enough on translating the mod to a language that everyone understands.
Yes, I know it's more fun to work on textures, and translating is boring and tedious and takes forever -- but sometimes modding isn't fun at all. You need to consider where you put your time, because making a version of CB that everyone here can understand is really much more important than adding a new texture.
It's not that people are ignoring CB, I think it's just that many of us will only play mods in English. At least that's how I feel, and I've long been a fan of your work...
Oh, and I do speak some French, so if CB was in French I might have tried it. But nobody in the US speaks Italian, because our schools don't teach it. It's all French and Spanish over here I'm afraid. You guys just weren't imperialistic enough in the 19th century
