yea, according to mirage im racist filth (his words).. why im not quite sure when as i said, i have friends of most races and religions, live in the UK (one of the most multicultural and tolerant places on the planet) and so forth......but there u go.
I merely found it irritating, LC, that you supported having me suspended over what was blatently a joke made in a non offensive way on the grounds that i was racist for making such a comment..
I actually never pinpointed you specifically as being "racist filth". Regretfully. If I'm gonna get myself suspended for flaming a person who believes the Arabs and Muslims aren't human beings... I might as well be specific, eh?![]()
1) you did use precisely those words if i remember correctly. and secondly you were punished for it. (was in the egypt thread i believe)
Thirdly, i do not believe that "arabs and muslims aren't human beings" - That is slander mirage and again i find it offensive that you say that without even knowing me (considering i have a couple of muslim friends.. i dont think its particularly logical to despise muslims and treat them as sub-human when im actually friends with several). if you have evidence that ive said such things please feel free to give the links and the like, however i dont believe you will find quotes of me saying such things anywhere.

The "half dozen [sic] people here" are not linguists and I very much doubt that the "whole of the UK" feels the same way. But if you would like to prove me wrong about the latter, go door to door across the UK with your question, then come back and report to me how many teeth you have left.
Furthermore, merely being from the UK does not make a person an expert on use of the English language. Your British pseudo-elitism does nothing for me. That said, I don't really give a rat's ass. I have my opinion on the matter, which is backed by my colleagues who are far more reputable on this issue than you could ever hope to be. That is enough for me.
Have it your way. You'll figure it out sooner or later, that when you use the wrong terms in the wrong company, you will get a lesson that will have you wishing that you took the friendly advice of someone wiser. But this is not my concern.

lol...now you're putting words in my mouth. I have not claimed any of the things that you have accused me of claiming. Keep going, Carach. There is still room beneath my present opinion of you. Instead of pulling things out of thin air, why don't you address some of the things I actually said? Either that, or you can always just bugger off.
Do you really think that you have a better understanding of the English language, just by virtue of being English? That's just nonsense.

Americans (and Irish) are known for corrupting the English language.![]()

One liner but not meaningless. A word in British English may have a different or more/less pronounced meaning than in American English. You're American aren't you? My point applies.
Oh, but obviously, you'll claim to had known this...

Who is going to be the first person to get a warning by commenting on what other people were warned for. I find it highly amusing.
And I am waiting with my finger on the trigger- Seneca
