They will be, but it's been decided they'll be orthodox only. There was only a tradition of recruiting them amongst the Orthodox Powers of the East, with steppe nomads being hired by the Rus but not the other way around.
The highest class horse archers they can get are Armenian Horse Archers and Turkopoles (Light-Medium)nice preview... what sorta archer cav merc can they recruit? any elite units
is there an equivalent to the byz cav from med 1?
Tobolight: Should be up there in a few days, maybe sooner.

ALthough I would like to type a lenghty post on how impressed I am, I must first go change my undies.
One thing thats always throws me off is the pronunciation. How exactly is Kataphractoi pronounced? Is it Kataphract+<French number 3>?

cat-a-fract-oy
Support Russia!
If none of the unit names pronounciation throws you off then you are either Greek or a madman.
Its quite ironic that the faction with the most hard to pronounce names in a Eastern-centric mod is the one closest to Europe.
Well its official now folks, the B in BC mod is in reality actually the Byzantine Crescent mod(+some other desert peepls lolol!!11). or BC+desertlol for short.
In all seriousness, tho, wonderful wonderful revamping, guys. Makes you wonder what the **** the CA guys were thinking when they did the original Byzantine faction with the awful purple theme.
Grats guys!

What does the oi and ai at the end of a lot of Byz unit names mean?
Hellenikoi Kataphractoi, Thuerophoroi, Thorakitai, Prodromoi, Hippokontistai, Hoplitai Haploi... They were just Europa Barbarorum unit names for Hellenic factions then nothing new for us eh? They're just Hellenic names mate. It seems we'll handle Hellenic Language couple of mods later.
Zita Hellas
words ending at -os,-č/ie(in greek alfabat a sort of 'n'-looking letter) and -on (ov) are nominativum singular person and -os=>male,č/ie=>female,-on=> male nor female. Oi,ai,(?) are plurial.A kataphraktos is one kataphract, kataphraktoi are more than one kataphracts.that is of what i remember of greek alphabat that i had to learn a long time ago.
