I will try to give a short answer.
Cities change rulers through time and their names sufair some changes according to each ruler's language or political message he would like to sent to world.
Byzantion/Nova Roma /Constine's city (Constantinople)/The city (Instabul) are names of the same city.
In a mod that focus in middle ages we can not call that city Instabul the same way we can not call it Byzantion.
How can someone call it Instabul the same time that is suposed Ottomans do not even exist.
Many people still call the city Constantinople that is true. This is because the name Instabul simply means "to the city" and its not a name after all.
Many cities still have their original names.
    Syracuse
    Taras/Tarandas/Tarando
    Varion/barion/Bari
    Ariminum/Rimini
and many others. Why Constantinople should be an exeption?
TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

AnthoniusII you make valid points, i agreee with all of them.

I'm pretty nerdy when it comes to the history of the city, being it was the center of my faith in the days of this mod, sadly that has changed.

Really the purpose of my original post was just curious as to see how many people would still refer to the city as Constantinople or Istanbul. I'm curious on what the BC crowd would consider it.

I think we should have some sort of chatter thread started here. Like another thing, I saw a quote from the Patriarch of Constantinople say he would'nt be suprised if he was the last. I find that crazy!! It was talking about how the Orthodox faith there has fallen from a minority to a "curiosity" in the city. I imagine much of Turkey is the same way.

This is just stuff I'd love to discuss with you guys, and debate a little.

These are right places to ask a question whether or not Constantinople should be called Istanbul. In BC Constantinople is Constantinople, for your information.

Oh, and city's name is not a sacrum to be profaned.
Definitely doesn't belong in the mudpit.

Well, the question concerns the present, not the past; potential discussion would be political, not historical.

    Nope, Political Academy's purpose:
Use this forum to discuss political theory in the abstract, as opposed to particular events or individuals.
