1.There really is no point they just give you a bit of money, they dont have a soverign anymore, and you ally with there military, you cant even control it,, this usually happens when they are down to one or two settlements, just finish them off, only ask for a vasselship if you need to rebuild your military power.

    2.Huh?

You should put High taxes and get citie upgrades to next level. You should also try to not build farms if squalor is huge.

For the Vassalship question, it is incredibly useful if you have a reliable or ver reliable rep. Getting Vassals is easy, you often don't even need to take their territory. One defining battle is all that is needed, crush them, then offer the olive branch of peace and you get 14 new settlements towards the 50 goal. They can act as a barrier and let you expand elsewhere. Also, as Kalos will attest to, if they make more than 7,500 a turn they give you money.

Sewers and council chambers don't reduce squalor. Squalor is added for every 3000 population you get (that's how it was in Rome TW). So to keep squalor in check, keep population growth in check. Don't build the highest farm available in regions with good population growth.

I've got a new problem now.I'm playing Scotland and I'm on my 53 turn and I've got England as my Vassel and I kicked them off the British isle. But now I've got Hertics everywhere. There is about 13 of them and every time to kill them with a priest they turn into Hertics. Is there another way of killing them?

Send assassians and priests everywhere on the island as one big mass. Put all priests into one province to quickly raise the faith and then move your assassins across the island to kill all the heritics. Then move to the next province in one big heap with your priests. This will help lower your priests chances of becoming heretics.

wait a minute. I thought improved and increased farming production reduces squalor, as well as adequate sewage systems and such?

The only sewer type of building in the game are those baths made by the byzantines and farms donīt decrease squalor nor do they increase it directly, they do it by making the population even bigger.

Well squalor is being affected by order though.
Barracks, churches (who also give a health bonus), entertainment buildings and such do help with the unrest in the cities while the city grows in size.
