no i got it form gamestop... but it came with a cd key correction card or something like that

it says manual correction page 4 then tellls me type it in a it says... are there ever spaces in the cd keys?

Try it with spaces, yes.

The CD key should be: xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxx or something like that, correct? Put spaces where the hyphens are (although I always thought there were separated fields for each group of characters)

I know that this is probably one of the stupidest questions i could ask but I was wondering to unlock factions do I have to conquere them with the Julii or can they be another Roman faction or other unlockable factions?

Yes, it is explained before, and if you are having problems with saving the descr_strat file like I did, go into pg 3 and think, and look at the conversation I had about it with Commander_Vimes. It's all in this thread mate.

can anyone tell me how to change the FIRST_TIME_PLAY:TRUE to false. I had no problem doing it with my old pc, but my new one has vista and when i go through the steps it doesn't work. I'm just getting a message telling me that i can't save it.
any help would be great..ty

I've had, that problem, except with XP. Its to do with the path, try going a different way into the folder. I fixed it by, instead of opening the side bar to navigate in My computer, I went into it with the large thumbnails. A bit of a weird problem, I may have done something else and not realized it because my solution doesn't seem like it would work normally.

I'm not entirely sure what Scutarii is saying, but the thing I did was to change the preferences.txt file, then save it in my Documents or some other folder as preferences1.txt. Then I deleted the original preferences file, then replaced it with preferences1, and then renamed it back to preferences, and it worked.

Want to take screens w/o the bottom map/unit cards/formation buttons section.

Is there a key stroke combo that will allow full screen - with NO unit cards/formation buttons?

Don't think so. All you need to do is take the screenshot, then cut off the toolbar. However, you can use the minimal UI toggle to get rid of the unit abilities bar, and minimize the unit cards and minimap.
