I thought they could be downloaded from the Total War website. Well maybe not. But there are plenty of places where you can download them from, doesn't seem normal that you can't find any on Google. Just type this into the search and should come up with quite a few sites : "v1.3 and v1.5 Patches for Rome:Total War download"

Just finish a short campaign with one of the Roman factions. I did it with the Brutii and it didn't take too long(just a few hours). I bet the Julii would be pretty easy too.

Also, there is a way too modify the game files before you even play, but I don't know how. (That's cheating though) I'm sure you can find it somewhere in this forum.

Well of course game files can be changed, thats where you get mods from. People here can teach you how to change game files to achieve different aims. What result are you trying to change the game files for?

im playing as the goths (trying) and before it was even 400 bc and i controled 3 regions (including constant.) and trying to expand when after i defended a region the failure to achieve victory screen appeared. it said i was destroyed. is this a glitch or what could of went wrong?

Did all of your family members die or something?

Did any of the other factions somehow achieve their victory conditions?

possible with family members, im 99% sure someone else did not achieve winning conditions. playing as goths is way harder then franks and the difficulty is shown as indicating the opposite. i found a glitch while playing also that when a certain person asks for adoption, my game auto kicks me out each time i accept but nothing happens when i decline. little things like this just add to the difficulty of playing goths. ill just try again.

It doesnt work? Any idea?

Does this only work once and you have to restart the game?

Depends on what patch you have I think, and if patches aren't the problem I'm afraid you'll have to play without cheats.

That cheat doesnt work at all, well not for me.....
Some of the cheats work which are listed in the site, but not al of them.

I think you are talking about the Goths in BI
Well I think it has to do something with the horde...... Remember Goths form another faction called ostrogoths which is an emergent faction. So 3 possibilties come into play:
1.All of your family member have died or been killed in battle
2.Your family members have converted to ostrogoths leaving the goths without any family members.
3.Another faction have achieved their victory conditions(very unlikely)
These are the only things I can suggest might have happened.

Like Selifator said, you need to tell us which version of RTW you have, because different versions have different available cheats.

It's most likely all your leaders and family members have died or been converted, so you have no one to lead your people. so they have had to die out.

well that cheat works in 1.0. 1.1, 1.2. 1.3. amd 1.5

ya i had about 1 or 2 members left and i already ousted the ostros so they were wondering else where.

It works, but in the earlier versions of the game, you could only use cheats once and then you'd have to restart the game to be able to use a cheat once more.

I normally have problems with the process_rc cheat. Is it a fake, or am I doing it wrong? It's really annoying having to wait ten turns so I can experiment on the game.

There's no such thing as a process_rc cheat. The only thing remotely close is process_cq cityname which automatically builds all the buildings of the target city in queue.
