I guess from the lack of replies no one knows what has happened.

That's a corrupt RTW installation bud.

Thanks mate, is this just a dodgy installation or could it be because I have another installation of Rome on my PC for XGM.

I have probably 10 different ones on my PC, so no, I wouldn't say it's because you have more than one. However, it is possible that if you copied the XGM install, some files got mixed up? You should install Roma Surrectum in an absolutely 'clean' and unmodded RTW folder. Although some mods allow you to play with the MOD switch, they still change some files in the root RTW install. That could screw up RS.

I didnt copy the RTW folder, what i did was install it then put on XGm move the RTW folder (not the activision folder) and then renamed it. Then i uninsatlled RTW getting rid of the activision folder and the pc then thinking RTW is also gone then I installe dRTW again patched it up and then installed RS.
This normally works as it worked on RTR but RS lookS way better than that for a Roman campaign. (Hopefully not affending anyone)

Ahhh...you should never copy an RTW directory and then uninstall it. Flukey things can happen in the Registry of Windows if you do that. Install RTW and patch it...then copy it and install mods in it. I keep the (original) RTW directory free of mods so I can copy it at will.

well what method of uninstallation did you use? the only true one is using the setup in the first CD. for some reason the add/remove programs feature leave the whole thing there, and deleting the folder in program files will just leave the registry.
I used the setup uninstall

when i uninstall, i just delete the RTW folder, then delete the registry key lol

Try reinstall or make sure your graphic board drivers are allright.I don't have such a problem , I can see all the graphic in DETAIL.
And how so, so magnificent that detail is.
And i right?
