But I just could not get into it, just too much information to take in at the start, the game was overwhelming to me. Perhaps I will install it again with a strategy guide or such at hand. It might spoil a few things but thats better than not playing the game at all I suppose.

Bioware openly supported the Witcher and encouraged their fans to try this game out. They did neither for neverwinter nights 2, the other game based on the nwn1 engine. That does show which game Bioware prefered.
Despite what I said, The Witcher is a good game, FINISH IT NOW. I was confused at the beginning too but all you have to do is keep going and use the journal, it helps when you're locating places

I just kind of had the idea that I would run into the wrong place and get killed because I would be a low level. I couldnt really make that much sense of the combat system either, wasnt going that well yet.

    Default Dragon Age: Origins

    Anyone interested in this game,
    Gamstop

It looks as if it could be the fresh air compared to the somewhat boring and dull Oblivion.

I am, hoping that its not ridiculously dumbed down gameplay though. They claim its the spiritual successor to BG, its not if its an action rpg with full AI control of the party.

You missed the 9-page thread about it here
I can't wait for it! It looks like it's going to be great but the combat seems sluggish and choppy

combat looks better than it ever looked in a bioware game, this has never been their strenght.

the story will probably be great though since it is Bioware.

This game is going to show how much a hold EA has on Bioware, they already made them go multiplatform. They did consider a X360 release before, but EA wants them to make a PS3 version as well while Bioware never had any interest in any playstation.

This seems like an interesting title but I was really surprised to see such things as only 3 differing classes (rouge, warrior, and mage) and only 6 origin stories. Like it or not, the contemporary RPG seems to be expected to have a fully customizable character a choice of class from way more than a handful of options.

But honestly I believe that choosing your class from the get go is really not the direction to take given most RPGs. Take Fable for example, you don't ever choose a set class but rather have access to the basic abilities of ranged combat, melee combat, and magic. You can either play using a balance of all three skills or prefer one over another. I think more games should treat their skill and class system as thus.

    Man, this game is bloody.
Yes, yes it is. Almost to the point of being too over the top but I'd still play it anyway. What really got me excited were what looked to be some nice finishing move animations...that's pretty awesome. Now all we need is dismemberment and the circle is complete.

You choose an initial class, but it seems you get to choose some sort of prestige class or specialization class later on.

Rogue, warrior and mage covers the three basic approaches. They havent released info yet on these specialization classes.

And you really shout not underestimate those origin stories. It could hardly be called "only" six because each of them offers a very different game, the differences are not small as in any other rpg where they merely just call you elf instead of human when you are an elf.

There are different starting locations for example based on your origin, and it will have a big impact on how others see you.

I'm not underestimating it, in fact I'm pretty interested in what that will hold but my comment was more directed a being surprised it only contains six when the common thing in RPGs these days is to have like....20 different choices.

But I don't doubt it will be cool. Too bad they didn't create a "Human Commoner", I would've liked to have played as that.

If this game gonna be perfumed with blood, guts, titties, more titties, skanks, violence dragons, rusty irons, important decision making and the chance to look some ugly monster thing face to face after you thrust a sword through their chest as promised. Then im in.

Imo poor choice for a theme song that E.A used to promote the game. Made it out to be some cheap ass fantasy porn if you ask me . Other then that with Mass Effect taking the van for this one, it will hopefully be promising.

who cares about the console versions even? the game was designed for the PC.

I rather see the console versions cancelled so they can spend more time on the PC version where it belongs, and which was the plan at first before they made a pact with the devil (EA)
