Yes, Obsidian really needs to stop making sequels to games of greater developers. It gives Bioware a bad name.

More about Neverwinter Nights 2 than about Knights of the Old Republic 2.
Neverwinter Nights 1 is the best game ever created in my opinion still and I still play it online almost every day. I know pretty much all there is to it. And all the things that make NWN1 stand above all other games from my point of view arent present in NWN2.
These things would be:
-an extremely easy to use toolset.
-no need to download anything but patches to join a gameworld created by other players. Unless mods are used.
-full armor and clothing customization. You select each bodypart seperatly. neck, torso, shoulderpads, biceps, lower arms, hands, belt, pelvis, thighs, shins, feet can all be altered seperatly to make an outfit or armor. Such a suit is made up out of 6 colors, 2 for leather, 2 for cloth and 2 for metal. Providing the player with milions of possible combinations to create their own uniforms, clothes and everything needed to create many unique cultures. And when mods add more options, these can also be used with the other parts. There is also a robe slot for outfits that cover multible bodyparts which is needed for long skirts, robes and other such clothes. With some mods you may have 200 options for the torso alone, and maybe 50 for most other parts, providing boundless options.
None of this is present in nwn2. the toolset is indeed more powerfull, but it takes a rediculous amount of time, far more than most people would have for it, and things are often made too much of a hassle compared to the predecessor.
You need to download walkmesh files for every single module you want to enter online, which means you may spend an hour to be able to get into a server only to find out its not fun at all and not worth your time within five minutes.
The armor and clothing customization is pathedic in nwn2. the censorship is so extreme that not even a bare neck or bare arms may be seen. The clothes and armors are also full suits and you can apply shoulder pads, leg armor and other such things to it that often cause clipping and cant do that much to alter the same boring armor or clothing, which they provide very few options for. Most parts of the outfits arent colorable either and they have a basic color assigned to it, meaning that whatever color you choose for it will be thrown over that color, limiting the options greatly.
It is a game I wanted to like, I was looking forward to its release but they proved themselves to be utterly incompetent and I dare say braindead even. As if they never played the original.
NWN 1 greatest game ever, hardly...
The multilayer was awesome, tooleset was great and it was fun if you had CEP, but its leagues away from the epicness of Baldur's Gate 2 and Planescape Torment.
I could never get into NWN 1, Baldur's gate 1 and 2 and Planetscape Torment.
Just lost interest very fast with them.
I always got it with NWN2 but the numerous bugs made me abandon it.
Still think Fallout 1 and 2 is Black Isle's best work(with Fallout 2 taking the crown).
And Bioware so far has made superb RPGs excluding NWN1.

as I said, in my opinion. I did not say its the best game ever for everyone.
Bioware made many great RPG's, but only one with multiplayer.
I greatly enjoyed KOTOR, Jade Empire and Mass Effect. But while I played them I still played NWN1. And now those three are on the shelves and I still play NWN1 and occasionly look the others up for some days, just to put them back again.
I rarely play multiplayer though, in fact, I hate multiplayer for pretty much every game because there are always annoying people there to ruin the experience. With NWN1 thats no a problem at all on the right server with good game masters. They just ban whoever ruins it for the others, ban their IP so they cant ever get back in.
And roleplaying is enforced on the right servers, and speaking normal too. No L33t speak.
Anybody else looking forward to this release?

That's the game being made by the ones who created Mass Effect right? I'm really looking forward to it in that case, but the pc version.
You have any trailers or image? Never heard of this game.
Get it for PC

Yes, the PC version all the way.
Will probably be getting the PC version. Wanted Mass Effect previously but the DRM put me right off and there's no Steam version in the UK. Was very happy to hear Dragon Age won't have any intrusive DRM beyond a CD code though.

The main reason to get it on PC is 1. the controls which previews so far has been a bit irky about when it comes to the consoles and not sure if Bioware can pull it off and 2. Mods.
When I say probably for PC I mean i'll probably get the game. Wouldn't buy it for anything other than PC.

Well was more stating it for those that might get it for consoles
PC.
According to the Theory of War, which teaches that the best way to avoid the inconvenience of war is to pursue it away from your own country, it is more sensible for us to fight our notorious enemy in his own realm, with the joint power of our allies, than it is to wait for him at our own doors.

My PC won't run it I don't think, I can see the appeal of the PS3 given it will run fully optimized on a large lcd tv with 6.w surround sound. Something to consider.
