A shame, doing a second playthrough and wondered that
Anyone else loved this conversation? It actually made me stop and think.

Dragon Age did have more "gray area" choices than most Bioware RPGs. I think it helped that they didn't include a morality system in the game. My favorite decision was choosing between Harrowmont and Bhelon. Harrowmont was honorable but wanted to keep the status quo as is which includes lack of any sort of rights for the casteless, while Bhelon was looking to reform the caste system, but he was an any means possible (Bribery, forgery, backstabbing) kinda guy.
I enjoyed the Desire Demon interaction but it really never made me stop and think that it was in anyway a 'favor' to the Templar at all. I thought Leliana summed it up well in that exchange you posted. He was nothing more than a mindless husk so I would say no, I doubt very much that is what he truly wanted.
Just because I'm now thinking about the mage tower, I really loved the exchange between Morrigan and I in the beginning where she was trying to argue that it would be better to kill the mages instead of save them. Just the way that convo unfolded and considering that we were already in a 'relationship' at the time, it really felt like an old husband and wife argument.
Paraphrasing the last lines:
Me: "everyone deserves a second chance including a bitter shrew like you"
Her: "Oh fine have it your way" while waving her hand at me. lol
I like PGeo's example though, that one was more difficult for me to find the black and white choice. My first play through I went with Harrowmont thinking I was making more of the 'good choice' because of his character but after seeing the ending with that choice and then siding with Bhelon on the next one I like siding with Bhelon better and felt that is more of a 'good' ending.
My first playtrough I listen carefully to what Morrigan had to say, while I didn't share her opinions often, hey, she's the groups mage and consultant in mattera of magic IMO. While I thought we discussed theoretical risks suddenly Wynne went all mad at us, became quite chocked over it ^^
Hmm, potential spoilers the rest

TATW submods + my art
Bhelen seemed to be the worst person, but best ruler. Harrowmont seemed to be the best person, but the worst ruler.
I just got to Orzammar and I'm in doubt about it. :/

When I played a Dwarf Noble and did the Orzammar quest line I ended up supporting Bhelen and then when I returned to Orzammar with the crown, at the last minute I backstabbed him and gave it to Harrowmont. Dayum that was satisfying![]()
Very much agreed.
Such great game I miss continuation of...big potential no doubt.
BioWare is unfortunately dead as of this moment unless a miracle takes place.
With the various Orgin backgrounds you get a more impact on the main quest in the cities/areas, but the most distinct one is with Dwarf Noble in Orzammar I'd say. Makes for interesting diversity and depth with ie Bhelen in this case.

Companions seem to have modern personalities for the most part, which really disturbed me. Especially with Allistar and Lolianna, since their personality does not match their abilities.
And I'm disturbed by the political correctness being forced upon me with these recent BioWare games, ergo gay characters and such coming on to me. LEAVE ME BE BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN.

Is it only me who feels like combat in rp games most important role is to make you feel immersed into the game? For me its more important that the power between me and a random bandit on the road is huge at the end and small in the beginning.
Thats one of the things i disliked about dragon age (that and that i didnt understand how to be the "good guy"). You always get beaten if u go alone. Shouldnt you be OP aseventually?
Is there anyone more wise then me?
Highwayman: Give me 5 gold to pass, or I'll kill you.
Me: Um.... you have Daedric Armor, and you're going to attack the only person on the continent who has the ability to kill almost anything, rather than any of these unarmored losers, for 5 gold?
Highwayman: Yeah.
Me: 'K.
I think they tried to make you feel that way when you started one shotting darkspawn at the end and taking several Ogres on at once.
But really, it's about tactical combat. If you went through that Dwarven criminal lair and one shot all the enemies before the final fight it'd be mind numbingly dull. I don't think they have a choice but to keep a challenge in the vast majority of fights.
