Heh, I support Alistair.
Logical paradoxes and giant dragons don't get on.
Oh man, Alistair is awesome!
I think my favorite Alistair moment was when you caught him admitting that he had many pillow fights during his stay at the chantry. lol So did you have many of these pillow fights Alistair? "No I mean swords and armor and other guy stuff". That was pretty funny. I didn't mind that he lacked confidence in the beginning either, it went nicely with his own personal story.

In fairness, I quite like Alistair as a character...
... but some of the most hilarious moments of an "evil" playthrough are ripping on him.... and having him killed...
Give a man a fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of the day.
Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.
Just curious but did anyone ever "harden" Alistair? Never have done it, though I do know what happens if you decide to do it.
I did during my Dwarf Noble playthrough.
No, I mean, if you make him king and make him marry Anora but spare Loghain. Because, while at first I thought him to be a ridiculously clichéd villain ( hell, guy who gives an evil stare at good guy after the later turns his back, I knew he was a traitor right from the beginning... ) and he turned out to be a pretty interesting character.

Never hardened Alistair. Well, I knew there was a hardening moment, saved the game before that instance and then 'hardened' him just to see. I hated myself for doing it, hated his reaction and quickly went back and did it 'the good way'.
I don't know what it is about this game, I just can't play a prick/evil character. Every other game I always roll the bad guy first but I still haven't been able to bring myself to do it in this game. I just don't see an evil character fitting the story. I know, I know, I'M WEAK!!
I always dueled Loghain myself, let Alistair have the honors killing him (he was closer to Duncan that I was, I could tell it was personal), let Alistair decide Anora's fate (she's always gets locked in the tower) and then propped him up as king. I still always get a -2 affection in his little rant after when he's BS that I did that to him, but he understood it was either that or Loghain.
Then I always turn down his offer to be his right hand man at the end, my good guy always chases after the bad girl.
I knew I was going to like him from the first time we met in Ostagar and his battle of words with the mage. "Oh yes, I'm harassing you by delivering a letter?!". He was totally trolling the mage haha. That's what made him fun for me.
I actually like the idea of making Loghain a Grey Warden in punishment. When it does come his time to die, it will likely be very very painful anyways.
Besides, a Grey Warden needs all the help he can get.

Ayn Rand novels aren't even suited for use as toilet paper. I mean have you ever tried wiping using a book?

I'm the exact opposite, I have never rolled an entirely good character ever. All of my characters are usually grey mixed in with some evil and the occasional good choices (Such as returning the Werewolves to their former state). In fact most of my characters end up adopting Morrigan's mentality
.
