Hello all,
Some of you may remember the AAR called "Riding with the Enemy" on the old RTR forum.
It was the story of Lucius, a Roman traveller who got captured in Pontus, spent several years in a Pontic jail, then was accepted by the royal family. After a disastrous campaign in Armenia, Lucius ran away and ended up at the Armenian royal court. An Armenian prince escorted Lucius to the sea where he got on a vessel that was supposed to take him back to Rome. He was captured by pirates and sold as a slave in Carthage where he was bought by a Carthaginian general and taken into Iberia where Carthage was trying to expand its colonies.
Lucius then sailed to Sicily with his master who was about to fight the Romans. Lucius was captured by Rome, but managed to flee with a Roman rebel to Greece. By that time, Lucius had realised that the Rome he remembered from before his travelling life was long gone. Corruption was the new master. The Roman armies were now vastly composed of Northern Barbarians!
In Greece, Lucius and his new companion decided to raise an army with the help of a Greek king to conquer Italy and march on Rome. After years spent in the shadow of many generals, Lucius wanted to be in the spot light. He wanted to restore Rome as it was before.

That is where the story ended with the RTR forum breakdown...
At first, I decided to wait and see what was going to happen with the forums. Then I got sidetracked by a few personal events (got married in August! ), bought a new PC and forgot about all this for a long time...
I kept writing though (I'm actually publishing my first novel taking place in the year 64 AD! It should come out in early 2008!) and still found the time to think about a few ideas for AARs (including Lucius' story).
Unfortunately, I lost the last saved game I had for this AAR. But I am about to reinstall RTR and jump back into action. Frontiers did not change much in that AAR so it should be easy to pick up where I left in a new Greek campaign.
I have a few questions for you guys:
1- Would you still be interested in Lucius' adventures?
2- If so, should I do it now or wait for RTR 7?
3- If not, would you be interested in reading a new AAR that I would begin (faction, writing style, etc. are yet to be decided)?
Thanks for taking the time to read this long (too long!) post!
Simon
