If you don't understand the underlying file, don't bother editing it either by hand or with an editor. The core_building tree is very tricky and most of it cannot be modded at all, and what can be modded will likely break RS because of how the mod relies on various AoR to do things.

So I repeat, unless you are an EDB expert, and you aren't, don't play with the EDB from this mod as there are 1 million different ways you can break RS by playing with the file and almost every single one of them would be a reasonable change in any other mod.

If you want to learn some about the EDB file, go to forums.totalwar.org/vb go the the scriptorium for the Rome series of games and dig around until you find the complete EDB guide, and above all learn the hardcoded limits of any file you are going to change. This information may also be available in the wiki on this site.

For future reference all modding questsions should be posted in the modding forum (not any RS related forum) as this is not the appropriate place for it.

Youre full of crap. I understand it enough that Ive edited farms, roads, markets, core buildings, etc. On BI, RTW, and SPQR mod. I will admit that trying to edit RS sucks.

Take a chill pill. He's not full of crap just because he gives you advice. Ever thought that you might be the one that's full of crap?

Hey bro I've been some of these threads that you've been posting/replying and it seems to me like everyone of your messages are provoking people. Especially in this forum. You need to calm down or alteast address people in a proper manner.

What I meant he was full of crap about was the part that said "You obviously dont know how to edit dsb or you wouldnt be asking this question." I took his advice and learned some things, but i think it needs deeper reading.

The reason that the EDB.txt in Roma Surrectum is so complicated is because I am trying to do a LOT of things with it that people normally do with scripts. Indeed, EDB.txt IS a script, so it is complicated in the first place....but I have used it in ways that are a bit difficult to figure out if you don't understand a lot of the code of RTW. Thus, removing or changing some settings can have a very detrimental effect on the whole mod...even break something.

It is SO complicated that at times I have to use a special editor that shows 'hidden characters' to clean it up and fix errors that a normal text editor can't even see. That's why I say....'edit at your own risk'.
