    Well BC is for M2 not for Kingdoms so we should probably discuss it in the MII MPC Guide

    But! Here is my configuration for my BC preferences CFG file which I have set as 'Read Only':

    [multiplayer]
    playable = true

    [hotseat]
    autoresolve_battles = 0
    disable_console = 1
    disable_papal_elections = 1
    save_prefs = 1
    update_ai_camera = 0
    validate_diplomacy = 1



    My Medieval 2 preferences CFG file is also set as 'Read Only' and here are it's settings:

    [hotseat]
    autoresolve_battles = 0
    disable_console = 1
    disable_papal_elections = 1
    passwords = 1
    save_prefs = 1
    update_ai_camera = 0
    validate_diplomacy = 1

    Hi,
    What is the sense in modifying the preferences to this:

    [hotseat]
    turns = 0
    scroll = 0
    autoresolve_battles = 0
    disable_console = 0
    disable_papal_elections = 1
    save_prefs = 1
    update_ai_camera = 1
    validate_diplomacy = 1
    To ask more clearly, what changes "turns = 0" or "scroll = 0"?
    These two were not in my preferences before.
    And why changing the other lines?

    I believe that had something to do with diplomacy, I apologize I cannot remember off the top of my head, however I know someone has asked your very question either in this thread or the kingdoms thread, so you may read through it and see. I believe a posted a link to another thread which has the answers. If you don't find it let me know and I will search for it again and relink it in the main post so this question doesn't keep popping up.

    Searching through both of the threads, I was able to find the following info. There some other posts that may lead you to another thread with additional details, but have you tested this out for yourself yet to see what happens?

    turns = 0

    Whether turns are in a fixed order, and protected by passwords (1), or turns are in the order of which action is required, ie. defending a settlement from a siege unless the attacking player is another human player (0). 1 comes with auto resolve on defending, 0 does not, but 0 is not suitable for online play.

    Hey I prefer the easy questions



    Here's some visuals, but basically the first time you locate your m2 preferences file you maybe asked what program to open it with and so you will browse to your notepad program and open it with that. I like to keep notepad in my quicklaunch bar for easy access note taking.

    This is probably a noob question but how is it possible to fight the real time battles via email?

    I can understand how the game could be played with turned based moves like Axis and Alies but not the real time battles.

    It's a common question. The real time battles are fought out on your computer verses your opponents AI.

    So this gamestyle is the internet community's answer to the fact that Creative Assembly never released a true Multiplayer campaign that could be hosted on a server like Steam???
