Thread: Changing accents

  1. #1

    Default Changing accents

I'd like to make the Teutonic Order and Denmark sound like the HRE, rather than Slavic.

I noticed that there is an option to change "accents" in the data folder.

But whenever I do that, the units continue to sound Slavic. Are there sound files that I manually have to change around? If so, where and how?

You have to delete the events.idx. and events.dat files from your data\sounds files for the accent changes to take effect. The game will rebuild them when you restart the game with the accent changes.

I deleted the two files. Now there's no sound at all.

The only sound in the game is the old man with the faction introductions at the beginning of the imperial campaign, and the sound of wind in the game menu.

Yes. I have a working batch file with which I've gotten other changes to work.

    @Naja

You need to place the sound files available here in your mod's data folder.

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/downl...o=file&id=1110

Then delete the events.idx & events.dat files & start your mod to rebuild them.

Excuse me, I do mod on the basis of Kingdoms/teutonic. These files do not suit, where it is possible to take necessary me txt files?

Where do we put these sound files? I'm using io-filefirst BTW.

In particular I need to know for descr_sounds_accents. Putting it in the data folder doesn't make a difference.

They should go into /data/sounds not directly into /data. Hope that helps!

    That's right.

But you must use a mod folder, because the modifications of the sound files not working with the io file first command.

Does anyone know how to change the accent of a faction? If you do can you list step by step? I'm not having any luck whatsoever and I consider myself a fairly intelligent person, typically I figure things out without asking or I search for the answer but this area of modding (sound editing) seems rather scant in terms of knowledge for some reason.

When i do this sounds end up missing, namely all voices and even the music. It rebuilds the events files but they are much smaller files size.
