I, think you will figure out what i have in mind.
The pictures show the first steps in the development of new units, many things will change until finished.....
But have a look now yourself.......

Salve webbird,
They look good.. but, I think they need bigger swords since they are obviously Celtic swordsmen..
I would prefer using this mod over the current RTR chosen swordsman mod any day...
Vale, Dux of Earl
Dux, yes they will need a suitable sword for better celts, we will see :O)
Nacho, ....Nacho did you say ROBIN HOOD ???? .......just wait until i have my Club ready ....moment .....ok!
What did you say ....NACHO????????? ...........hey stop ! ...........;O)
Who the hell are those guys? They look like 'Gallic Legionaries' if there is such a thing! They look VERY Roman....

May I suggest putting them in the horde formation? It might make them seem a little less Roman.
Great job, nonetheless.
They are in fact the early romans, but ......they are extremly versatile if you like to create celts with them.
Historical facts:
The early roman helms where adopted from celtic helms.
The first chainmail armor of the romans where copies of celtic chainmail.
Most celtic warriors carried two Javelins or short spears into combat.
Clothing and combat options of the early roman units are very usable for celts.
Yes they will need longshields .......as i wrote, it`s just the beginning of the creation! :O)
those are killer and look like one of the mnay uints that didnt make it into the game.
These are sweet, cant wait for the release, good job
working on one of many texture variations which are possible.
Here i made careful alpha-shaping of the shoulder parts to get the illusion of an cape or mantle and to give the shield the original shape of the "Battersea shield"
Superb shields! But would the Gauls have short Spanish-style swords?
four pictures now, showing four totally different shieldtypes and shapes of the celts.
first the celtic longshield .....but that is version one .....
the second shows one of the great bodyshields, very battle beaten with breaks and cracks and the heavy middle piece.
the third is again a great bodyshield, one three parts with extra protecting pieces, they where masterpieces, worked from one piece of wood or from bronze.
number four with the "battersea" type, here you see a further development of the cape,
i have the option to make the shoulder parts invisible again and can make textures without "cape" too, it will be endless...
i hope to bring the feeling of celtic britain a little alive again.
you may have notized that all have different mustaches of couse, and the helms will vary in the further works too.
nice, my only comment is the cape. its looks to flat, its just a texture stuck to his back. maybe you could make the cape more of a seperate part of the unit, so its looks like it has a cape instead of a shirt with a strange patern on the back. maybe you could use the capes that the roman generals wear. the units look nice though.
