Napoleonic Total War 2 (NTW2) is a modification for the Rome Total War PC game. The current working version is the Portugal Expansion 3.6. Players need to have a working, unmodded copy of RTW patched to version 1.5 in order to play this mod correctly. Installation insutrctions are linked further down this page.

NTW2 frequently asked questions and informational threads-

What is the current and MP compatible release of NTW2?Short answer- NTW2 is currently in its final release, version 1.0. Players who have never played NTW2 before need only download the NTW2 version 1.0 and install on a clean copy of RTW. Users who have played NTW2 before are recommened to removed and reinstall RTW and the napoloenic folder in order to have a "clean" version of RTW on which to install.

We highly recommned that you download and install the MP Map Pack which includes over 100 community made maps to the mod.

Will NTW2 ever feature a campaign?Short answer- No. There are no plans to create a campaign map using the RTW engine. The AI was not made to take into account muskets and cannons.

How do I install NTW2?Short answer-
1) You need a clean, unmodded copy of RTW version 1.5.
2) Download and install from the Lordz site NTW2 version 1.0.
-New users need only this one application to run NTW2 for the first time.
-Players who have older versions of NTW2 are highly recommended to begin with a fresh RTW install, that is reinstall RTW up to 1.5 to prevent any file errors.
3) Unpack and allow the installer to walk you through the process.
Optional- Download and install the NTW2 Comunity Map Pack. While not necessary to play NTW2 it is suggested that you invest the extra monets to download over 120 user made maps to enchance the online experience.
