I will vote for number 2 but I suggest we fallow though first utilizing strategy number 2 and then strategy number 1. however rather than using strategy number 1 as a diversion's use it as a last resort should we need to force peace on them.

we have never done this before, to attack and abandon a settlement. If we wish to commit lives, roman or otherwise, to such a task then let us make it worth the life spent. Blood, noble senators, is an expensive coin, and as I do not vouch for any form of extermination, or sacking the only way it could be payed back to the people of Rome would be gradually in the form of taxes and trade from that city. To conquer and then abandon it would be an affront to our solders, our customs, and our gods. It would be a digestion towards barbarism.

A new victory has been forged by the northren legion. The army of Gual that stood right across the crossing comitted and attacked the legion.


I formed the legion according to prevoius experince. The wide sides allows for more use of javelins and pilas. I positioned the velites on the right side of the Gaul seeing they carry their shield in the left hand, this way I would hit them unprotected while they approached.


The battle was quickly decided as the Gallic mob routed several times even before they hit our lines. The last soldier is stabbed in his heart.

I also provided the runner with a new map of the Po Valley.

yes. let us content ourselves with stopping them near the alps and looking for somewhere we NEED to control for the good of Rome. having control of Gaul is all well and good until the Germanian decide we have become an eyesore. i think it is time to look elsewhere for conquest and glory, such as Corsica and Sardinia to bolster our naval trade and to strike a blow, however minor, to the Carthaginian dogs in the north of Afrika.
