Great work. The units are totally a whole level above the ones in the original RTW.

OMG OMG i will definitely be the selecuids 1st when it comes out
btw how long has RS:2 been in the making
Just like the elephant animation, this Carthage scenario is actually in the game, it just has a small percantage factor for showing up, that's all..."we're way way pre-alpha and what that means is there is loads of features not just in terms of the graphics but also in terms of the combat and animations that actually aren't in the game yet.So the final game is actually gonna look way way better than this!” - James Russell, CA
Beware of scoundrels
Well the mod was first released January 2007. DVK had been working on RS1 for about a year at that point. I along with one or two others like cherryfunk came on board in November / December 2006 initially to beta test, but I felt that the graphics needed a bit of a boost and started first of all with changing skies, then the Roman shields, then started skinning in a bigger way in Jan / Feb 2007. Skinning and modelling for RS2 really started almost exactly a year ago, but is gaining pace.
So I guess we could say that work has been going on for about a year.
wow
you guys must be the most committed guys ever.
you inspire everybody around
+rep
keep up the good work and i can't wait for RS:2

We used archaeological evidence, reliefs, primary source descriptions, statues etc, armour finds, to piece it together. The guy that made that drawing just must have used the same evidence we did.

Whoah..my favorites were the Seleucians too...I preferred them from all greek factions...
Imagine whats like seeing this army..the very ground shakes under the feet of elephants, ironclad cataphracts in shining armour on the eastern steppes, horse archers on swift horses, and then the mighty silvershields arrive to show their might...
I Don't Fancy taking my Legions up against that lot. They look awesome.
Quick question: Will the Ptolemies get African elephants? Or will there be some method of "capturing" enemy Indian elephants, as they often had to do this?
Ptolemies will only have African elephants unless they take regions right at the Eastern border of the map to get some Indian ones, but we're also talking about them starting with a very limited number of Indian ones right at the start to try and replicate the rough historical situation.
