I'm having a problem with RTR Platinum 1.9, which I recently downloaded and installed. It will come up and run, but will not allow me to play the campaign. It will allow historical battles and custom battles, but will not let me create a campaign. When I click on the Campaign selection (which is NOT grayed out) a box pops up with the message "select an option on the list".
I've installed the mod-switch version. It was installed onto a copy of RTW-BI that has been patched to v1.6. I copied that installation into a fresh directory. The copy (which is the one I'm modding) is a working copy. It is absolutely patched to BI v1.6 standards. I'm sure of that since it presently is functioning properly with New Shadow v2.0b modded onto it. That mod is a mod-switch version that resides completely within the bi directory (within its own ci directory located there) and has not given a bit of trouble, either before or after installing RTR Plat.
I see a response to a post concerning this to the effect that this problem was most likely caused by an incorrect BI version. That is not the case here. The machine I'm running this on is using the Vista operating system. I see a post in the forums at http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=125322 from someone having a similar problem who is using Vista. The difference is that he can get no mod to work. New Shadow works fine for me (as does RTW-vanilla patched up to RTW-BI v1.6 standard).
I suppose my next step is to copy my patched vanilla version to yet another directory and try modding it to see what happens. I'd hoped to avoid lots of multiple copies of the game through the use of the mod-switching feature.
I'd appreciate it if some could possibly shed some light on the situation. Perhaps some Vista users could say if they are successfully running the mod.
