Thread: Re-emergent Factions, Use of

    Default Re-emergent Factions, Use of

Does anyone know of a mod that makes use of the re-emergent faction characteristic that was in MTW VI?

I'm sure that M2TW doesn't have the same mechanism for that, but anything similar?

I thought that was the best part of VI.

As to the OP, not that I know of yet but I believe Kingdoms via the Brittania campaign has this ability, though not exactly like MTW emergent types, but more like shadow factions as in BI game.

In Brittania, England has the shadow faction in for of Baron Alliance I think.

If you want to do something like emerging factions by script, look here.

And LestaT is right, Kingdom offers a new feature, but sadly that's not what we had in MTW1.

I don't know if any already-released mod has re-emergent factions but I know a few are working on them (II will have some for example, and iirc BC is going to get some, too)

I think SV 2.5 has this feature as well, the Ilkhanate of Persia got taken over and a stack wandered around sacking things.

Although this isn't re-emgerent I think, the army was just left over. But I could be wrong, and even if I'm not, it's a start!

Yeah Kingdoms mods can plenty do re-emergent factions, by making them re_emergent in descr_strat.

    And that works?
Without additional modding - only by adding that line?

I almost can't believe that, but it would be very nice indeed!

Well I don't know if it will make those factions spawn on their own... but it definitely makes it so that a defeated faction does not become destroyed forever.

    What a pitty...
I already now that you can re-spawn a faction manually if it was marked 're_emergent' in descr_strat, but I hoped CA built in an auto-respawn function.

I think there's some new spawn faction command which has a complicated syntax, isn't there?

Why not just create a new historic event and spawn factions that way? The way mongols do it?

No it's because mongols are set up to start as a horde. What if you started an event for a non-horde faction, and gave them a province via script? Though I guess figuring out how spawn_faction command works would be just as effective. And more useful in the longrun.

You can give regions to a faction via script? If so, then that would solve that issue quickly.
