    PDER Kings Fix for Pro Deo et Rege Kingdoms version 0.1a

    GENERAL:
    Addressing minor (and major) changes for the game play in general.

    NOTE:
    The fix is save compatible, some changes will only take effect after starting a new game and are marked with an X in the log.

    IMPORTANT:
    The change in the maximum children seems to trigger a CTD. Until this is properly sorted out I suggest to apply the zip file at the bottom of the thread. Simply unzip into the data folder of PDER Kingdoms.

    INSTALLATION:
    Point the installer to the root directory of M2TW (C:\..\Medieval II Total War\).

    HISTORY:
    Change log Kings Fix version 1.2
    - Disabled merchant fort cheat
    - Reduced influence of markets on population growth rate
    - Increased maximum children to 5
    - X Corrected faction standings for Novgorod

    Change log Kings Fix version 1.1
    - X Removed wooden wall from Uppsala start up.
    - Fixed orthodox churches for Novgorod (thanks VirusITA).
    - X Moved port of Dimyat to enable road connection.

    Change log Kings Fix version 1.0
    - X Disabled the flood event.
    - Enabled orthodox bishops and great imams.
    - Added 100 movement points to agents (priest, merchant, spy, assassin, princess).
    - X Introduced tar, honey and salt as trading resources.
    - X Moved port of Murcia to enable road connection.

    The fix works well but I had to redo the Uppsala bug again (Kingdoms Edition Bug thread SEPT 07/Sept 10).
    The Novgorod church fix still works though. Hard to get it all right.

    I'm holding out for Big Map PDER Kingdoms, with most all the 31 factions filled, with Real Combat 1.4 plus Effects, Blood Brood's Bastards, with Heradlry mod, the whole deal.

    Any indication when PDER will be 'complete', as in "tie in all of the releases and versions of PDER, along with reskinned new factions and units, into one game" which presently already exist?

    One thing for sure, I'm not buying Kingdoms until VirusITA gets a version and goes big map on it - that's the only way to play!!

    Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else, for a second there i thought we were going to get the kings as a unit as in kingdoms. is this going to be a possibility in the future?

    Hmm...the next PDER will be done when it's done! Still have some work to do. It's taking awhile because most of the work for the next version is heavy on graphics/skinning/modelling. And will have new factions, new units, new map.

    But there's only one me to do it all! You can be sure that I'll keep posting updates and screens along the way!

    Hmm...I was thinking about including the strat map kings and generals models from Kingdoms, but again, it's just a matter of skinning them all...

    I love you guys, Socal, Virus, Gigantus, the whole team - you guys put a lot into this. Things take time, and hey, we also have lives and other commitments!

    The only reason I say I'm holding out is not to put in a 'rush order' or anything like that - its just that all the small updates are not normally retrofitted for back versions (and i'm not asking that they should/could be!), and since it takes me several months of playing an or hour so a day just to get through 300 or 400 of the 900 turns, I only hold out for major changes!

    You guys program and mod, but I'm beta testing! Tests take a long time - imagine how hard its gonna be to find problems that happen in the 14th or 14th centuries? That's where I come in!

    And I know the next major changes will be as 'bad ayus' and by all means take your time!!

    Try creating a new cfg file (in the root of PDER) without all the hotseat stuff. Should look like this:

    Socal, if you could add those kings skins onto the battle map that would be awesome, espeicaly having a crowned king that is distinctive from other generals on the field of honor. btw I am truely enjoying this mod so much. I love the map, but i would love to have the AD map to be honest, it really is the best map going.

    What happens?
    1. Crash to Desktop?
    2. Freeze up?
    3. Any info in the system log?
    4. Did you change anything in the medieval cfg file (not PDER)?
    5. Anything else you might have noticed?

    Some kind of error massage when the game loading the save.

    OK. I think, that only I have such problem, so i just downdate the game Now i wanna try change ONLY the files which make possible to recrut priests for novgorod.

    That is fixed in the latest Kings fix. Simply re-install PDER Kings (no uninstalling necessary) - this will return any changed file into the original format - and then run the fix. I had the very same problem with the descr_character file, forgot to add the one with the Novgorod entries and the game just simply refused to start.

    Thanks again gigantus for taking the time to do this! I have to admit I don't have nearly enough time to attend to bug-fixes as I'd like. So this is really appreciated!
