Default Les Uniformes de l'Armee Francaise

I recently came across a PDF book on my computer that's got pictures of official European army uniforms from 1690 to 1894. The book seems to be an old publication but there's no date mentioned.

Here are a few images. I believe I can give you a link to the whole book if it's within the rules:

How do you "come across" a whole pdf book on your computer? It must have got there somehow. Or, do you mean on the internet?

Looks good though, not sure about copyright and all that. PM one of the moderators and ask them?

I'm on my old computer since my main PC is currently not operational. This one hadn't been used in years so I don't know where the file came from.

I hope CA will see these pictures before to put only blue and white on all the French uniforms.

I agree, but how will the game let you distinguidh between the different sides if it doesn't use "national" colours? Especially as there quite a few TW players who think using the "pause" button is cheating (they are wrong of course, but hey, each to their own).

These are allied German troopers from Napoleonic wars anyway. hardly representative of the national (royal) uniforms of the 1700s

lol my French isn't that good. It's a 40-page book, I just screenshoted some random pages.

Hmm is it just me or are the German officers taller than their French counterparts?

Well it must be you since no Frenchmen are in the illustrations above. But I suppose that Germans might be, in general, taller.

Ok, I just looked closely at the book and it's got uniforms of that era from armies all over Europe. From Westphalia to Spain and from Italy to the Netherlands.

I'll have to edit some posts ...

Very interesting. Good start to CA to be felt inspired. But let us not wait historical accuracy in this case.

    Bon travail

Yeah, but 1848 might be a little late for the time of the game.
