I personally can't decide between Nords and Swadians.
Swadians - Show me plate armor, I'll show you a happy camper.
Vaegirs - Who says you can't use polearms on a horse?
Nords - Forget a horse, just give me a big axe!
Khergit Khante - What are legs for anyway?
Rhodoks - Long pointy sticks turn me on!
Keep your stupid kingdoms, Just give me some hired blades!

Khergits ftw!
I try to be just a regular mercenary with my hired blades.
But, if I want to go around and conquer, I'd be either the Swadians or Nords.
In v0.808 and previous versions, I favored the Swadians because of their heavy cav.
In v0.89X, I now use the Vaegirs because of their crack archers. They also have much better knights now that always get warhorses. No more hunters that get killed easily that'll leave them on foot.
Swadians or Nords
Swadians. They have the best all-around troop selection: heavy horse, crack "archers", infantry that isn't terrible. I would like the Rhodoks more if their spearmen had a little more umpf and they had some cavalry options.
The trouble with fighting for human freedom is that one spends most of one's time defending scoundrels. For it is against scoundrels that oppressive laws are first aimed, and oppression must be stopped at the beginning if it is to be stopped at all.

The Rhodoks Sargent's are insanely strong though often enough they give me a run for my money.
No love for the Mongols, I mean Khergitts?
Rhodoks are my favorite... They are cheap but effective

Khergits are cool, but anyone know what happened to that awesome lamellar that some of them used to wear?

Yeah, the gold armour, it's sad they removed it, I was hoping they'd make it a piece of equipment you could use in this version .
Khergits all the way, at least that is what the Mongolian Government is telling me to vote for (CONSPIRACY!). Honestly though, I just love being a horse archer. It feels far more unique than being a Caucasian knight/viking.
I'm a Lancer, when I play Khergits, ride in fast and spear them (but I try not to use couched lance, it's more satisfying trusting the lance through their head as you ride past them).
Khergits all the way. The a.i. for horse archers sucks right now, but when it gets fixed there will be no stopping them. However, I will be very disappointed if they don't bring back the black khergit guards and their gold lamellar.
Too true, what I don't get is why there's no HA key, because they don't respond to cavalry and they don't respond to archers, you have to just select all and tell them to follow, then tell the infantry and archers to charge, so the cav and HAs follow you and the infantry and archers move to attack.
My own Khergit experience has been one of my horse archers ditching their bows in favor of swords and charging headlong into the enemy like they were Swadian Knights or something. It's exceedingly frustrating when you compare such behavior to Steppe Bandits, who will not switch to a hand weapon until they are completely out of ammo.
