The screens are quite good. Which editing software are you using? If you are using photoshop start by doing small things, like blurring, changing contrast, hue etc. I started the same way. I'm still not great but my editing skill improved a lot by practicing this way. Good luck, I am looking forward to new screens. Keep them coming!

btw: Fraps are messing with me so I was wondering if anyone knows of any other good screen capturing program.

Well if you press prt scr during a battle. The game will automatically save the screenshot as a TGA file. You can find all the screenshots you took this way in the Medieval II Total War/tgas folder. And since you're using CS2 you should also be able to view the screens you made. I hope this helped you out a bit. Keep the screens coming!

@Saibot: yeah I know about that but prt scr kinda lags the game. I mean it takes a while to take a shot. Anyway I think I fixed fraps now. Will see.
