The Byzantines lost their last holding in Italy, the city of Bari, in 1071, so giving them half of Italy is just not historical. Actually, they shouldn't even have any holdings in Asia Minor (the Turks made Nicea their capital around this time). It was only because of the first crusade that they managed to recapture Nicea and move in further inland. It would also be nice to place a strong Sicilian army in the vicinity of Durres (Dyrrachion) to represent that invasion of Robert Guiscard, which happened in 1081. It would definetely make a challenging early Byzantine game.
I know it's not historical. But i don't really care, the Byzantines are strong in the Early Era but are weaker in the other 2 campaigns. Plus with lots of spread out weakly defended territories they're not going to have an easy time in the Early Campaign.

Don't know what, if anything, you are doing to historicise armies
Are you removing the largely a historical (by 1080) byzantine cavalry horse archer - most cavalry were lancers

    2) Are you tidying up the succession system which is al over the place, when in realms other than the feudal states of Europe rulers had reasonable latititude to choose their heir so the system should be like Rome total war

    thanks

I'm not changing any unit rosters or factions. And the succession system cannot be changed.

Exactly how many turns long will the early era campaign be? I've finally wrote a no-winter script that works properly (characters age normally), and want to get the number of turns right.

Well it's from 1080 to 1530 at 1.5 years per turn.

I could make a script that winter every fourth (or any other number you'd like) turn, but characters still age 1/2 year per turn if you like, in case you also dislike having half the battles in winter.

do you have any plans for using the "britannia map" as the map in the
    100 years war.

No i do not as the Britannia map is missing the rather crucial part of France for a Hundred Years War map.

Before this, I wanted to point out that Aquitaine became an English possession only in the middle of the 12th century, but I think 45-50 turns is fair enough. Plus, England should have more enemies at the beginning, not just Scotland.

looks great Lusted! thanks for all your work on all of these LTC mods. I cannot imagine the total man-hours of gaming enjoyment this has given MTW2 players all over the world.

    truely an accomplishment for sure.

It's strange, but, the thing I got most excited about when looking at those screen shots was what appeared to me to be an absence of the border lines between your own provinces. (Atleast on the campaign map, that illusion was cast to light when I looked at a faction other than the Byzantines). That's nice, though, if my eyes do not deceive me. Always hated the lines on the campaign map, though I don't know if you can actually remove the border lines in between your own provinces.

You can't remove them on the actual campaign map i don't think, but you can remove them from the mini-map as you can see from the screenshots.

It wasn't all that worthless in the beggining. It's importance died in the plague.

And he'd have to expand the map as well. Then I see it better.

The Hundred Year's War campaign runs from 1337 - 1450. As said in the preview i'm just showing the new art for that campaign, it's still the same campaign as in 3.0 and is not linked to the Early Era. Just like the Reconquista and Italian City States campaigns it is seperate from the Era ones.
