    Default Das Heilige Römische Reich - Suggestions

    Hi! Welcome to the Das Heilige Römische Reich recomendations thread.

    Currently we are adding a few new features for our next version. However, what we really want to know is what players want for the mod. So please post any feature that you would like to be added. We really want to know what people want!

    Would it be possible for every faction to start with a diplomat?

    I like the idea of the mod, but bigmap runs very slow so I'm excited to try .5 when you are ready to release it.

    Add different skins and units to the HRE factions and it will really spice up the gameplay. Also, give the other factions a few more provinces/more money/more troops to balance the map out some.

    Thanks a lot for the input!

    While I try to keep some sort of campaign balance, it simply doesn't pay off to invest a lot of time in balancing at our current stage of development. Too many features will be added in the near future, that would un-balance the game again.

    We (or I, at least) don't have enough time for a serious playtest while modding - So, we really need your input!

    You might have noticed that lots of cities have no (or few) buildings still, diplomats are missing... If you have ideas, please post them here!

    EDIT: I almost forgot: New skins and units are on the way!

    I'm really enjoying your mod, I think it's a great idea!

    Any plans to add some more individualized flavor to the new factions?

    What about titles granted by governing settlements i.e "Margrave of....."?

    I think this is a really interesting mod, can't wait to see where it goes!

    Right now were making each of the factions more individualized and adding more. So things wont feel as repetative in the next release.

    could you make if possible for a faction to 'join' the HRE?

    say if Denmark is over-run by a HRE member can an option pop up saying "The Emperor wants Denmark free under him" or something?
    Total Rep = Unknown???? who will +rep me to the crown, whomever it is will get a mystery prize! or will they...

    Hey Ieuano!

    Sorry for the late answer, but yes that *would* be possible.
    It would involve a lot of additional scripting, but it would work.

    Thanks for the input, I will keep that in mind!

    One other mod went with the 'Historic' names, but excuse me for saying, but this is a game, not an historical simulation It was silly in the other mod and will be silly in yours to have the real foreign/historic names, especially when all the game text and voiceovers will still use the English modern names. Maybe it's because I am British, but having all those 'ysssuiosp' type names representing Egypt or whoever was just immersion destroying not immersion creating! other than that, I think the other ideas of the mod are really good!

    I would personally like it if we have factions that are unique from each other. I mean, in M2:TW, there are a lot of clone factions, I hope that can be remedied in your mod.

    Moreover, if the map will extend to India, detailed rosters of the Mughals, the Safavids, the Afghan Duranis/Abdalis, the Marhatas, etc would be nice. I can offer my services as a historian/researcher if you guys need one.

    @uk_john

    Thanks for the compliment.

    Well, bar the title our names are still as they are in vanilla. I only have used the germanized versions of German names (Heinrich instead of Henry) for German Factions, because they play a major role in our mod. And the Title was changed because it's english version sounded too much like CA's next game.

    But no-one keeps you from changing back the names. But I guess that would be too 'silly' for you.

    In addition: What if CA were an italian company? Than you wouldn't want mods to change the names of english kings from italian to english? :hmmm:

    @Sextus Loverlord:

    That's exactly what I think. We always accept any help gladly, but could it be that you thought this mod's focus was the British Empire? Just because you proposed that we extend the map to india.

    Since it´s called "Heiliges Römisches Reich", I would like if your really concentrated the campaign on the Reich and the surrounding territories, or maybe western Europe (a good cutoff point would be the easternmost tip of the Italian peninsula to the east and maybe Malta in the south). That way you could put a lot more detail into those lands (the 200-province limit).
    And if you´re worried how to fill tat limit, take a look:
    http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/...d.php?t=221753
    141 possible regions (counties) for the HRE alone.

    Dimitri_Harkov - of course Heinrich from Henry makes sense, but I meant using the latin names for cities and nations, or as in one mod the origianl celtic name for Scotland which was three word the the first word being Sy and the second beginning Nydo.... With the voiceovers and text still saying 'Scotland' this was just silly. This is what I meant by changing the names, I meant more about cities and nations rather than individuals....! Still think all the rest looks cool!!!

    @Ciaran S

    Yes, that was Snoopy's original idea for the mod.
    The main reason why we started with a BigMap verison was that I already had it ready. But we are moving in the right direction, the next map will be smaller and will focus on Europe only.
    If we are doing well, your wish will become true sometimes in the future.
    We already have lots of ideas for this. If we ever do this, it will probably focus on the 'Interregnum' in the late 13th century.

    And thanks for that Paradox link. That will really help us! +rep for you!
    Good that there are lots of freaks around like ourselves who provide us with such stuff!

    @uk_John

    Oh, that. We have not really discussed that yet, but I think we'll keep the english names, at least for nations.
    I have added some traits to the HRE which have a german title for better immersion, but english descriptions. Mostly obvious ones like 'Kaiser' (Holy Roman Emperor) or 'Kurfürst' (Elector Count).

    Have you leafed through the link? On the later pages you can also get detailed region maps for England, France, Spain and central Europe (Poland, Bohemia, Hungary). The only thing I´m missing is Italy, though.
    It would be really neat to see a more "focussed" mod, much like what Lusted did with his campaigns in Lands to Conquer.

    We may one day do someting like Lusted but for now we are trying to have other factions around so if you do not want to play as an imperial duchy you can still play as spain or the byzantines. However, the new map is almost all central Europe. Egypt, Cyrenacia, Syria, Georgia, Volga-Bulgaria, and the Americas are all gone so this map is much more focused. Also, our new faction is a HRE related faction.

    Perhaps 2turns/year. Though you would need to balance build times and some recruitment times.
    I'll ask again: if a gang-rape had started, do you think it would've been playfully incorporated into the show? Do you think the jokes would've kept flowing?
