The way things works right now is you conquer a settlement, build the same constructions as in every other town/castle, and occasionally your province may have a mine. Not very exiting is it.
Imagine if provinces were spiced up with some variation in availability of buildings?
For instance, if your province is in a barren land you might only have access to the lowest form of agricultural improvement. While a province that is fertile would have the greater, but more expensive improvement available. Another province may have the option to build a cotton plantation, brewery or whatever resource is available.
The limit and availability of building option could be applied to other areas such as recruitment of province specific units. Say you have the option of building one of two specific buildings that each lead to a unique unit set. Just like with castles and cities, you would have specialised the settlement even more to your liking.
Example; In the north Americas you could build " Lodge A" or "Cottage B", one would put you on a path with various types of skirmishers and one would give access to certain native american units.
I think you get the picture..
I believe the specialisation would give each settlement a bit more character, adding to the continuity of the campaign.
Any thoughts?
