In the same folder you found the unpack_crusades.bat, etc. files, there should be an unpack_all folder. Double-clicking that will unpack the main M2TW for you.
And as a note, apparently the problem is with the .sd files. The main ones need to be unpacked and in the correct folder or you get the messed-up interface. I'm at work at the moment!, but tonight, I'll update the installer to include these files to avoid the unpacking the main-game problem.
But until then, unpacking the main-game should correct this problem.
Any questions feel free to ask! I'm here to help!
Whew Im looking forward to the re-release of this! Im upset that I have not had the time to unpack and get it working due to work and lack of sleep lol. Thanks work.
-I also had the interface problem fyi.

i found something odd. None of my ports is yielding trades (not blocked of course). is sea trade disabled in this release? thanks.
Updated the download link for PDER Kingdoms edition. Hopefully the included .sd files will resolve the display issues people who had not unpacked the main Medieval II files were experiencing.
If you've already downloaded it, you could also just download the attached .zip file and extract it to your main M2TW directory.
Cheers
I m doing a complete reinstall of med 2 + kingdoms so are the instructions for the PDER kingdoms mod now all I need to follow. I have so many mods that a new install seems best. Btw I really enjoyed the big map version but it was hard.
Excellent.. hopefully sea trade is fixed..was very tight in florins early on... off to another GC restart. thanks.
Should I still delete the 2 files in the first readme ? (descr_geography_new.txt and descr_geography_new.db )
I tried a small battle and it worked ok without deleting these. Couldn t find them anyway.
Thanks for the hard work.
The instructions are still valid. The only thing different with the Display_Fixer or the new Installer is the inclusion of the vanilla .SD files that will go into your main M2TW folder.
Apparently, the display issue was the result of having the Campaigns mods unpacked and not having the .SD files in the main M2TW folder. Hopefully, this will fix it and spare you the trouble of unpacking the entire M2TW just to get these three .SD files.
Oh, and you should definitely still delete the two geography files in each of the unpacked Expansion campaigns! Although, I think they may only be present in the Britannia campaign.
Cheers!
Thanks. I only found the 2 files in the british_isles data .
hey guys, 2 new bugs... i think.
Upsala in sweden is a village but has palisade wall?? therefore even though you have enough population you cant upgrade it. Is there a way to solve this without starting a new campaing?!! if so let me know please (im in the middle of a novgorod campaing).
The other thing was that novgorod coulnd build orthodox churches or chaples but that is easly solved

Ah! That's the problem with Upsala. IlyamaXP and Jihada were reporting the same thing about not being to able to upgrade. Here's what Jihada did to avoid starting a new campaign:
I'm about to leave for the airport in a few hours for a four-day weekend to California, but I'll put that on my list of things to fix!
The solution is in the descr_strat.txt file. The entry is like this:
Should look like this:Code:settlement { level village region Stockholm_Province year_founded 0 population 700 plan_set default_set faction_creator denmark building { type core_building wooden_pallisade } building { type port port } building { type barracks_denmark auxilia_phase2 } }
Code:settlement { level village region Stockholm_Province year_founded 0 population 700 plan_set default_set faction_creator denmark }
Ouch didn't even noticed this bug when playing denmark for like 100 yrs. good one. btw, about the code changes, does it just need to add that extra parenthesis or need to delete the rest of the building lines for level village as well?
as always, thanks for the quick reply infidel
I may now edit with confidence.
