Denmark tried to regain control of Skåne in the Scanian War (1675-79) but this attempt was a failure. Following the Great Northern War (1700–21), Denmark managed to restore control of the parts of Schleswig and Holstein ruled by the house of Holstein-Gottorp in 1721 and 1773, respectively. Denmark prospered greatly in the last decades of the 18th century due to its neutral status allowing it to trade with both sides in the many contemporary wars. In the Napoleonic Wars, Denmark originally tried to pursue a policy of neutrality to continue the lucrative trade with both France and the United Kingdom and joined the League of Armed Neutrality with Russia, Sweden and Prussia. The British considered this a hostile act and attacked Copenhagen in both 1801 and 1807, in one case carrying off the Danish fleet, in the other, burning large parts of the Danish capital.

I hope denmark would be playable, I would love to use strategic control of acess to the Baltic to my advantage and send sweden packing=)

I certainly hoping that CA will think again and include Denmark-Norway among the playable factions as Denmark-Norway wasn't small and insignificant during this period... We had once of the best navies out there during this time, sadly some poor international politics and a pretty huge European war meant we lost it to the superior British.

I doubt they will make it hardcoded to play the non-playable factions. If they do, they are ****ing a-holes.

Even if i would prefer Sweden as a playable faction I have to say that thoese Danes look preaty nice indeed.

Both Sweden and Denmark-Norway should be in the game. The europe of the times were way more than just Napoleon and his wars.

Yea, well, i do not know much of this time of history, but what i do know is that us (denmark - Norway) and the swedes had a nice little series of wars through the period. The dano - Norwegian army were quite interesting, With a mostly Norwegian navy and dannish infantry. Sadly The navies were the only thing we were ever good at . I hope that we are playable, Or the britts will have it too easy in the north sea ;D

I heard that they will include over(or just) 50 factions, but that only 10 will be playable and unique. I can think of those factions as playable:
1.Russia (certain)
2.Great Britain (certain)
3.France (certain)
4.Prussia (certain)
5.Spain (certain)
6.Ottoman Empire (certain)
7.Portugal (doubtful, but they should)
8.America (announced but strange... US as a faction emerged in 1780-something... and what happens if I playing as GB never colonize NA?)
9.Austria (certain)
10.who knows

My conclusion: Denmark will must surely not be playable, as well as Sweden for that matter (my personal opinion no need to be rude in comments )
