    yeah i tried the mod, but when i start it up in the launcher thing, everything gets REALLY laggy, like the frame rate takes a nosedive

    shame too, this looked like it wouldve been fun

    Erm, I'm not experiencing that issue at all. Retrofit + GUAM is just as fast as vanilla M2TW or Kingdoms.
    But then I'm running a q6600 and a pair of 8800 GTXs in SLI.

    I have played the mod for few hours,it's great!

    But the only fly in the ointment was the AI of the campaign,it's simpler than M2TW and kingdom....too easy to play (I have set the difficulty level to very hard/very hard)

    I think the campaign AI of the Mod may continue on the M2TW or kingdom?


    But the AI on battlefield is no problem

    Whatever your issue is, though, it is not due to the Retrofit Mod. If you find the mod easy to play, you would find M2TW equally easy to play, since the mod didn't really change anything that could cause that result. The Retrofit Mod only changes a few lines (like 4) of code in the AI parameters, and all it does is makes the AI more likely to attack factions that are in the factions victory conditions (so England is more likely to attack France, Scotland is more likely to attack England, etc). Personally, I found that this has made the game much more difficult, not easy...

    I haven't experienced any lag whatsoever with this mod, and the launcher really shouldn't/couldn't make the game any more or less laggy. I suspect there must be something about your system that is producing that effect. Use the desktop icon to launch the mod instead of the auto-launcher feature if it isn't working well on your system.

    I know this isn't really the thread to write this sort of stuff in, so I apologize. The thing, though, is that I was wondering if it is possible to mod the retrofit campaign map. I've been trying to add a region for a couple of days now and it just won't work. Would be really glad if someone could answer this for me (and then I'll start writing in the appropriate thread)!

    It is possible to mod the Retrofit campaign map. Adding a new region requires changes to a few files. If you start a new thread, make sure you describe the changes you are making and what the problems are.

    Why did this mod change the armor values to low? Does the armor values work in the same way as before?

    Any changes to unit stats were taken directly from the 4 Kingdoms campaigns.

    Every time I try to download the mod I get a message saying "Sorry! You have exceeded your daily allowed download amount." when I haven't downloaded a thing yet today?

    Well not necessarily. My computer isn't all that good and it runs retro & GUAM just fine. In fact, i've seen no difference in performance since I've installed the mods.

    I tried comparing the files from retrofit and CCM 2 but I couldn't find any relevant files to enable it it retrofit.

    That's odd, you should be able to play any of the original factions with the Retrofit Mod.
    Have you tried the Kingdoms Grand Campaign Mod? It's based (in part) on Retrofit 1.0 and adds a bunch of new features (including being able to play as Ireland, the Teutonic Order, Lithuania, and more) that are not in Retrofit 1.0. I give it two thumbs up.

    Sorry I didn't scan through this whole thread but I'm having a problem installing the mod. If the solution has already ready been posted, I apologize, please direct me towards the post.

    In case not, here is my problem: I click to install and an error pops up that says :

    "ERROR: Setup was unable to find a valid Medieval II Total War: Kingdoms installation. The Retrofit Mod version 1.0 requires Medieval II Total War: Kingdoms. Setup Aborted."

    I'm running windows vista home basic if that helps. bought my copy of cold edition in june 08 but im putting the patches on it as i speak. m2tw is version 1.3 and kingdoms is version 1.04 and i run into another error when trying to update to 1.05.

    How do i get the mod to see my valid version of kingdoms and successfully install the mod?
