I can't wait for this to be added, very nice skins and color schemes.

    Really, I CAN'T WAIT!!

It would be cool if, in general, it was possible to get away from the MTW2 upgrade format where 'new' units are just 'old' units that simply come already with the armor upgrade and slightly improved over-all stats.

Work in progress.. I don't want to break your hopes but it will take still a few weeks.. This time PDER will have a fantastic update!

VirusITA - alright then, you the man, good ****. I'm sure SoCal's got a ******** of files up on his ass and probably like some deposition on thursday and is all crazy busy.

That means the community needs YOU!

If the new version(s), as I suspect, are not backwards '(saved-game) compatible, then the updates should be more thorough and complete than just minor tweaks, even though it means more time in between changes.

This is better cause I have time to actually finish a campaign! I haven't gotten past the mid 13th century in PDER, and I've played it with 5 factions.

I'm all done with the skins, but I'm probably going to be touching up the Arquebusier skin when I get free-time.

But I haven't started adding them to the campaign yet.

1] I wanted to first implement the Novgorod faction from Kingdoms Expansion into the grand campaign as a test-run. I've never added a faction before, so I figured I would start by merging in a faction where the work was done already to see how it goes. It actually wasn't that hard, just tedious. The hardest part is getting the interface all squared away.

2] I've been talking to danova from the ORNAMENTUM Mod and they may be able to provide PDER with an Aragon faction icon and possibly some banners.

Turns out he's a fan of the mod and might be willing to work on the faction icons & banners for the other new factions. If so, I'll be waiting for those as they do amazingly beautiful and professional work! Serious, check their stuff out and plus rep 'em

It was also a three-day weekend here in the States. Which meant a lot of time outdoors! Beautiful weather here!

    Thanks for the compliments!

I will say this, though, I was able to merge PDER into Kingdoms expansion this weekend. What this means is that, for those with the Expansion, you'll be able to run PDER using the Kingdoms .exe. Which means boiling oil, control of AI reinforcements, campaign AI tweaks, AI recruitment tweaks, and other nifty features for us modders!

I'll post some screens and open a thread soon. I hope to release this week and it will include Novgorod as a playable faction.

Cheers all! Thanks for the interest in my humble little mod! Means a lot!

One suggestion i have, make a new province in spain called Huesca. It should be Aragon's only starting province and the would have to capture Zaragoza and Barcelona.

Iberia is pretty packed with provinces as it. I think we may to fudge a little and have Aragon start out in Barcelona.

But to be honest, haven't thought it out yet. Waiting for my map...

Aragon ought to start out with its own province...Barcelona was an independent county at this time, though somewhat tributary to both Aquitaine and Navarre if I recall correctly

    Almogávares [non-armour upgrade version]:
The name almogávar comes from Arabic, 'al mughavir' meaning raiders. Originating from Aragon, from both Christian and Muslim backgrounds, these professional warriors are elite light infantry skirmishers armed with javelins and a long knife, called a coltell, and sometimes armour. Despite their light equipment, they have a fearsome reputation.

NOTE I had neglected poor Aragon for a long-time! They're not gonna get totally new units, as thus far I've only concentrated on new units for factions that could not have otherwise been fairly depicted without them. But Aragon will get this and maybe one other brand new unit...

Oh, and I based these dudes more or less on this pic:

Wow they look great so much more rough then the regular ones. Are they still going to be available for Castile-Leon?
Edit: did you make a totally new sword for them to use or just the regular?
"July 14, 2008: I think this is a case where Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are fundamentally sound. They're not in danger of going under. They're not the best investment these days from a long term standpoint going back. I think they are in good shape going forward. They're in the housing market. I do think their prospects going forward are very solid."
