    I agree
Even if the uniforms look allot alike they should have the colors they had in real life even if that means there will be allot of the same colors.
You should be able to see which soldiers belong to you just by looking at the flags.

Another thing I really hope will be in the game is that there will actually be soldiers holding the flags instead of the flags just hovering above the soldiers like in previous TW’s.

    Yes I think you're right,
As far as I can tell Swiss mercenaries became very common in the mid 15th century in many European army’s and where still common in the 18th century however by that time they where allot less common than in previous century’s

At least National colours make a degree of sense for this time period. Obviously, in medieval and ancient times, there was a lot of variety in the styles and colours of militarywear, since most soldiers had to equip themselves. But in this era, all the armies wore same general colours. The French wore blue, the British wore crimson, the Austrians wore white, the Russians wore green. Obviously there was still some variety (ex: the green jackets of the 95th Rifles) but national colours will me much more accurate for this game's time period.

When revolution occurs (and if it's in the game) there weill be something like a complete switch in units, colours etc etc.....It's not that difficult.....
Well in EU for example even soldiers on strategic map changed instandly when an upgrade have happend.
And flags changed instantly when an event have happened(act of union for ex )....It's not that difficult...

Most of the infantry was white coat with different facings for regiments. The Guards (french and foreign) , some Marine units, etc, a few line infantry was blue. The gendarmes were primarily a red, while the cavalry was far from uniform, many different colors.

Well still, at least CA has an excuse for faction colours this time around. However is there is purple anything, I may have to kill a few people.

Heh, I just had this mental picture of a CA employee, reading this thread, looking at this post then erasing 'purple' on a big chalkboard labelled "Faction Colours"
