I believe that Georgia was in very bad times around 1080. Tbilisi was under the Turks and Georgia was centred more to the west around Kutaisi.

Tadzreuli...I'll ask it to you cause you know everything about Georgia!
Was Kutaisi under Georgia or the Turks in 1080?
Although I found lots of informations about Georgia out there I couldn't seem to find this little one...

Between 975 1122 Kutaisi was the capital of Kingdom of Georgia, and in the 15th century-1810 the capital of the Imeretian Kingdom.
About tbilisi, in 1068 tbilisi was once again sacked, only this time by the seljuk turks under sultan alp arslan.
In 1122 after heavy fighting with the seljuks the troops of the King of Georgia David the Builder entered Tbilisi. After the battles for Tbilisi concluded, David moved his residence from Kutaisi to Tbilisi, making it the capital of a unified Georgian State.
bravo, Arsen ! that's right, but at 1122 AD Georgia was almost unified, Tbilisi was surrounded by the Georgian lands.Between 975 1122 Kutaisi was the capital of Kingdom of Georgia, and in the 15th century-1810 the capital of the Imeretian Kingdom.

no, Kutaisi (proper medieval name is Kutatisi) was temporary capital of Georgian kingdom. Was Kutaisi under Georgia or the Turks in 1080?
at 1080 AD Tbilisi was ruled by old Arabian emir dinasty - Japharid's with civil administrators, like senators. Arabian rulers of Tbilisi was vassals of Turks.
Awesome! Very productive!
The law is reason free from passion - Aristotle.
The end does NOT justify the means.
It was almost unified? Was it not completely unified by the time David took back tbilisi? - Or maybe you say almost because there was still small threats and that there was some issues georgians had to deal with until they are total secure. But practically Georgia took back those lands in 1122
Magnificent work.. And the best part of playing Georgia will be the Georgian King it has a wonderful model...
Shine on you crazy diamond...
yes, I wanted this to say .Or maybe you say almost because there was still small threats and that there was some issues georgians had to deal with until they are total secure. But practically Georgia took back those lands in 1122

so...I'll name it Kutatisi, historical accuracy is really important to me...
I think Tadzreuli know aloooot more then me about georgia overall
Actually, I think Kutaisi is pretty accurate itself. Depending on what timeframe it is. Kutatisi is more ancient I think.
as I remember, "Kutatisi" is medieval name of modern "Kutaisi", the ancient name is - Aea/Aia.Actually, I think Kutaisi is pretty accurate itself. Depending on what timeframe it is. Kutatisi is more ancient I think.
