But thats just what I think. Noone can possibly answer this. I wonder if they have started working on the sixth game. hmmph

Caveman/Paleolithic (mammoths/sabretooths ) or WW1 would be brilliant! Considering Empires contains ship battles, I don't see why a WW1 battle-map couldn't contain strafing biplanes or the odd bomb from the air - long-range artillery could be set up in the campaign map and appear in the battle-map as high-explosive/shrapnel bursts only - of course, you could set your own artillery prior to battle as (1) targeting enemy troops on battlefield or (2) counter-battery operations to reduce the effect of enemy artillery on your own men. It would be awesome! Trenches, mining, trench-mortars, shell-holes, MGs and strong-points, grenades and bayonet charges....do it CA, do it

My guess is they will evolve this engine to what i think most of the community and fans want.... a R2TW.

I think, there is going to be a shogun tw 2 or something like this after empire total war, because there is always a game, an addon for that, another game with the same engine and an addon for that. and after that there is a new engine. and honestly I think that it would make much more sense for them to stick to another scenario with lots of gunpowder because of the engie which will certainly be working pretty well with that. and after that maybe they will develop an engine that can handle ancient battles better...

I doubt they make a fantasy game. There would probably be way too many legal issues to mess with LOTR or any other established fantasy world out there, which means they would have to create their own.

well, the problem with going farther into the future, is not only the size of the conflict, the range of the weapons, or the increasing complexity of warfare, but also the fact that most major battles lasted for weeks, months, or even years. I would applause any development team if they were able to represent an entire real time WW1 or WW2 battle in Total War style.

Certainly not what I expected, but I won't say I'm disappointed. Naval combat sells the game for me. It seems CA is well aware of that.

To start anew, we must start small, the idea of germ total war is good enough for CA.

take over or defend the body, as either an invadeing virus or germ factions, or one of the 3 antibodies factions tasked to defend the body headed by the white blood cell senate *cough*, and when the time has finally arrived when all the germs and viruses are gone, it is time to take over the body for yourself, and initate a civil war within the body.

Will you be the STD faction? your faction may be small, but it has a unique unit roster, and a unique posistion *cough*.

the white blood cell faction, casted out by its fellow antibodies, it relies on huge bioarmoured units to gobble enemy units, it will still defend the body, but in its own way, and still seeks to rid the body of the anti bodies.
