When is the demo coming out?

Is it possible you could tell us if,when, a demo of the game is coming out because after Med2, I think I won't rush into it, and please, please can you make sure you have fixed as many bugs as possible before you release it. Because Med2 was practically unplayhable unitil any of the patches came out.

The game has only just been announced today - release date stated as some time in 2008 so its far too early to be considering a demo.

yes but they have been workin on it for a year, they could maybe relase 1 historical battle for both land and sea, e.g. one of the nelson battles, and a land one, e.g. like waterloo

Just go to sleep, and live your life. And return every 3 months for new pics etc.

Thats prob what I will do. Concentrate on your life, studies etc. I cant deal with this anymore. waiting for RTW and M2TW busted me 5 white hairstraws!! lol

I've always been mystified as to how a company can maintain hype. I get hyped for a title when it's first announced, then forget about it until the first reviews start coming.

I really want Kingdoms now. At least I can play it in my new student flat within a week or so, wheras Empire will likely come out after I've started JET

Standard timeline for CA

- Announce the game at Fall (late august/september)
- Release screenshots, videos etc for a year

- Release a demo 4-5 weeks before the final release of the game.

It has been like that for the last 3 games, although they seem to be more faster this time.

Expect a Demo in Late-October/November next year. And expect a release of this beautiful game in December 2008. (if everything goes as plans)

It is faster. I meant the developing time. RTW came out 3 years after MTW, MT2W came out 2 years after RTW. The expansion for M2TW hasn't even released yet and we are already talking about the next installment of the TW series.

Yeah you are right I agree.
They move on alot faster nowadays.
Its not been a year since the release of m2tw and they are announcing the next game. I see a change.

Well I think it's more because of the Oz office now sharing some of the burden.
Mean these guys started doing this after BI not to mention that they are getting more exprience.
I think it was in a interview they did, they said that they could make a TW game every year if they wanted to.
Is this a new engine or a modified RTW engine ??

RTW was more like 2 after MTW. A new game every 2 years in Q3-Q4. It does seem like they've announced this one very early though, I seem to remember M2 being announced Q2 last year?

The game is being rebuild from scratch it seems.
So its a new engine.

TB666, I've heard CA mentioning that this is a completely new engine. They aren't going to use the Rome: Total War engine much longer, now that Kingdoms is almost out.

Maybe they have recruited alot more staff? More help from Sega.

I have zero problem with them working fast. I like rapidness, im just worried it might affect that they will release a game with bugs. Visible bugs
For instance its just two bugs in M2TW 1.0 that irritated me.

Walls being invisible sometimes in sieges.
Cavalry charges.

The game as it is right now is pre-alpha. Two years before its released is a very big possibility. I would expect a demo a few months before release. I myself highly doubt a fall 2008 release and think sometime in 2009 is more likely.
