    That basically sums it up

    OH MY ****ING GOD

If someone told me to write a book on morality, it would have a hundred pages and ninety-nine of them would be blank. On the last page I would write, "I recognize only one duty and that is to love." And as far as everything else is concerned, I say no.

    How will Colonial wars work?

Will their be land dispute over who claims this area for an example :- dispute between the british and french on how owns the region?

Will you be able to be build forts in order to occupy regions and make them permanent?

Will settlements be sacked by native americas and pirates?

Will there be a colonial capital a major city that controls all their wealth and lands?

Will you be able to make decisions on events in order to go to war or prepare for war?

Will the jacobite rebellion in scotland happen?

Can u establish trading posts in america and india?

Today should be an international holiday!!

My favourite era in a TW game, I'm so happy!!! (Hope it's not just 18th century but also Napoleonic Wars!!)

And I'm tired of swords and armour, I want muskets, cannons and bayonets!!

... mmhhh early 19th century Redcoats... *rrrrr*

We've got a forum up for the new game; this thread will be merged into an identical one here

What about the campaign map. How is it going to work? Are they using the same campaign map engine as RTW/M2TW? Since they've not mentioned anything about it, I'm inclined to believe that it is so...

As has been said multiple times now, Empire will use a brand new engine.

Well, I try not to make assumptions about what that new engine might be like. I'm hoping for either a risk style map, or a 3d map that's not just a grid with "zone of control" etc.

    We'll see.

apparnetly theres no more squares on the campaign map now? Hows that going to work?
Also apparently theres a fire button so you can get he timing perfect.
Its all about formations now apparently. Anyone played American Conquest, men standing in front of cannons on a grape shot= bye bye units.

Analysis should not be diverted by reflections upon the zeal with which the victors at the end of the Second World War punished the defeated for war crimes. The victors were animated by the ideals of the Atlantic Charter and of the United Nations. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was about to peep over the eastern horizon. But first, they wanted a little hanging.

Ah I didn't see that before. That's good news.

One last major theme of total war games has been the unit system, where you recruit individual units, that lose men, leaving you with crowds of small individual units, and the more variety of units there is, the more smaller units you have that can't fit on the battlefield with your 20 unit army...

This is hoping for a lot I assume, but I dearly wish they would switch to a recruitment based on numbers, which is drawn from the populations. You'd set a certain percentage or something to be drafted (or in those days, tricked or kidnapped) into the army.

But seriously, if they live up to expectations this is a game I will gladly buy a new machine for.
