Ghazni, Seljuks, Kypchaks all have excellent heavy archers. Even Georgia and Rum Turks have a good ones too. KoJ dominates the crossbows.

Some did.

The Kingdom of Jerusalem, Armenia, and the Ayyubids have them as part of their native roster. Others may be able to recruit them as mercenaries.

Umm... the Xbow came originally from china via the mideast. There are multiple references of different mideast kingdoms using crossbows. Even the Abbasid caliph once set up a "knightly" order (religious gang if you will) in Baghdad whose primary weapon was the crossbow.

And I think the reason why armenia got X-bow is that its considered sometimes as a Crusader states, and the unit is called Latin padded sergeant crossbowman.
You should figure it out

There are no clones in BC. There is not a single unit that has been cloned and re-coloured ALA Vanilla M2TW. If two factions can recruit the same unit then it's because there is strong historical evidence to say that unit fought for both factions.

As for the best archers in the game, it's difficult to say, certainly the Mamluk archers are one of the best. The KoJ have excellent armoured sergeant crossbowmen that I believe have the highest missile attack of any unit.

I dont think gunpowder will be a part of this mod.
AFAIK, timurid elephants wont even have gunpowder and cannons on them, it will be "traditional" arrow/javelins ^^

To be honest we have done more or less nothing for the Timurids, their late entry into the campaign means that the user will rarely encounter them. Research and development is better applied to playable factions.
