Default Moved to Vote - Garbarsardar for Opifex

When proposing this, I received Garb's permission before going ahead, so let's get that issue out of the way.

Now, the question is, has Garb "served the Total War Center or Total War Community with exceptional input to any of the boards or mods in any capacity other than that of a Staff Officer"? I think the answer is undeniably yes. Let's run through the facts of the candidacy; Garbarsardar is a longterm member of the site, who has been active pretty solidly at least throughout my membership. His post output isn't exceptional in terms of numbers, but in terms of quality he is singularly excellent, take these examples; example a and example b. He has also produced a few initiatives on the site; whilst the wiki was not his brainchild, its precursor and coexistor the Scriptorium was founded by Garbarsardar with help from Tacticalwithdrawal; as one of the first Scrips, I must say Garb left it in an incredibly good state for those who continued the work. He is also the founder of an underused but still extant Fight Club, which he of course has participated in; a wonderful innovation which has spawned some very intellectual debates. The final contribution I wish to highlight is, of course... the Cookbook. A masterpiece of wierd genius, a true mark of Garbesque style; the Cookbook is the cherry on top of the pudding (cooked to one of the recipes in the Cookbook of course).

This man deserves Opifex, and we should not let past travesties hold us in the immediate granting of this award to the most deserving of members.

Supporters: Perikles (post 2); Publius (post 7); Belisarius (CdeC) (post 24)

Please, if I didn't use your name, don't be offended. There's just so damn many of ya!

And I ask that these nominations would be halted until we get to decide is Opifex medal going to be divided into two separate sections or not.

Of course I cannot enforce this, neither would I like to do that, but could we wait just a little bit longer until we get everything sorted out?

@Ragabash - I'm not sure how Garb potentially becoming an Opifex effects the discussion on splitting the rank. Assuming the Cvria bestowed this upon Garbarsardar, and also assuming that the Opifex split were passed, could he not be treated the same as any other current Opifex holder?

It just seems inefficient to halt the current and accepted process because a proposed change is being discussed.

I have requested that Curator to move my bill for medal separation to vote soon as it's possible.

I just want to give some time to perfect our medals before handing them out. Remember how it turned out last time when we rushed, we made medals that were more or less incomplete that resulted a complete overhaul of the system by removing/altering most of the awards.

That's more a problem with people not taking their time to fully consider new proposals, it doesn't have anything to do with perpetuating the present system. (i.e. rushing legislation = mistakes and overhauls later, voting someone in as Opifex and perpetuating present proven system ≠ mistakes and overhauls later). At any rate, a discussion for another place than here, probably.

And we need to make it harder for the future if my bill passes the vote and Opifex becomes a separate award for TW contributions.

I just cannot see a merit not to wait for a while, we have nothing loose if we wait, but if start to propose members now, it could create some issues if Phalera's award bill passes the vote later.

Does it really makes a difference do we propose members now, or later once this matter has been decided by the Curia.

Make another thread to discuss it if you feel the need - this is hardly the place

    Publius.

Heh... I doubt there is a need for that. I have said everything I wanted in my above posts; that unless we perfect awards systems before we start to give them out, we might come across with another bunch of problems later that could be easily be solved now, when the system is still young.
