Default The Age of Islam -- An Egyptian AAR

After realizing how horribly slow RTW runs on my computer, I thought that I would revisit the classic and dark MTW and write up an AAR for the Egyptians.

So, here's how I will be playing this game...

-Version: MTW VI, Version 2.01 (Gold Edition)
    -Difficulty: Hard
-Can only use Jihads as a defensive method against Catholic factions.
-MUST claim all Islamic territories and ones that were historically under Islamic control (i.e, Sicily, Southern Spain, etc)
-At least one army perpetually stationed in the Holy Lands
-If the Holy Lands are lost, all armies must immediately recapture them.

So let's get this conquest under way!

    The Age of Islam

    Introduction
The year is 1171, and the Islamic Sultanate of Egypt is more powerful and prosperous than ever. From the rocky coastline of the Iberian peninsula to the sands of Arabia, Sultan Ali I commands the voice of a vast people. At the heart of this great sultanate lies the true power of the Egyptians; the Holy Land.

These rich and fertile lands supplied the Egyptian people with luxuries beyond imagination, and they fed the beast that was the Almohad war. Now, the veterans of that violent campaign occupy Cordoba and Granada, under the command of the two brilliant commanders Amir as Salih and Amir al-Din.

Once again, those armies will march, and march they shall to the lands of the Turks. Soon, the Islamic peoples of the world will be united under one banner!

Nice! You should have started before the Almohad war.

In view of our divine essence, we need only liberty and work; in view of our mortal nature, we need for our direction a guide and a support. A government is not then, as a distinguished economist has said, a necessary ulcer; it is rather the beneficent motive power of all social organisation.
