Am I not supposed to be able to bribe Gondorian Captains/Lieutenants/Settlements with my Adunabarian diplomats?

Just asking, because I can't

Can bribe everyone else.

Perhaps it's because of the shadowing thingy. Have you installed the 2.0b hotfix? In it, we had to remove the shadowing, because it was hardcoded that shadow factions couldn't win the game and once they achieved their campaign goals the defeat message popped up. Using the hotfix will probably solve your problem.

I thought I had... I chose the 2.0b download from your website, rather than the 2.0 from here...

The hotfix isn't included in the 2.0b, only the quick-patches 2.1 and 2.2 are. The download link for the hotfix is its own announcement thread at the official forums.
