I have heard many suggesting new factions, as there are only two faction slots left I thought making a poll about it would be good, it might help the team members to decide. And also, Zeph I you don't like the thread close it, I don't mean anything bad with it.

the factions are:

Sweden- Found much information, military info is medicore to find and military would be strong, diplomatic relations streching as far as Spain and Mamluks, very important for Northern Europe. Although pretty poor

Bohemia- Military information medicore to find, would probably be like the Polish army, with strong cavalry. Very important for Hungarian, Polish and German history. a good buffer between HRE and Poland. Although pretty easy to defeat

Georgia- information is easy to find, christian faction near the holy lands, strong units, infantry and cavalry, good buffer for Mongols and Ottomans and also Khwarezm. Important for steppe and ME history. Although landlocked.

Ireland- Information easy to find, Army would use strong infantry and range units, pretty important for English history. Would be good to fight of English power. Although locked on one Island.

Volga-Bulgaria- Very good muslim faction on the steppes, Important for Russian and mongol history, would use strong range units. Although information almost impossible to find and locked in the east.

Flanders- Information mediocre to find, would use strong infantry and very rich, would be great against HRE, England and France. Also a great buffer for northern europe. Although would be beaten easily.

Aragon- Historically a power in the Western Med. May form an intriguing addition next to both Castile and France and add one more political element in what was a strife torn peninsula. Unit wise: probably very similar to other Christian Spainish factions which may be considered uninteresting.


I know I am not a team member, But these are factions the people have asked a lot about and Zeph has considered in the past. So I thought making a faction poll about it would help you a bit. I hope I am not much of a trouble.

well i still on sweden-georgia

its the only factions here with conditions to have a nice campaign, location, history etc

aragon hmmm just another spanish kingdom, nothing new about it, flanders well interesting but not militar power, just trade center, ireland have done nothing important except trying keep them freedom,bohemia its a mix of the neighbour factions,easily defeated (so no chance), bulgaria hmmm interesting but i guess there no free space/region for them !

For family ancestry reasons I'm drawn to Bohemia, but a one province faction is kind of a tough sell. Flanders is interesting, but same problem as Bohemia. Volga-Bulgaria would be fun, but another steppe faction would have somewhat limited appeal. Ireland never really did anything on the world stage. Sweden's a close call, but for reasons of historical relevance and importance I've gotta go with Georgia and Aragon.

I like Georgia and Aragon - I know that Aragon is similar to Spain but they give the Iberian peninsula another faction to fight against the Moors and maybe Portugal will not be so easily conquered.

plz people, do me a favour and vote FLANDERS, if you would have lived in the Middle Ages, you would want to have lived there! Wealth, power and (especially) very nice women who dressed richer then the queen of France - nothing has changed actually, except for the power .

Georgia: A christian faction in that location sounds great.
Flanders: should provide a great challenge when playing Flanders, France or HRE. Would maybe need a few more cities in that region though.

i understand people wanted see those factions, but main idea of add new faction was balance the power in different zone of the map not put them all in the same zone , flanders its already wanted by 4 major powers (england,france,hre and eventually denmark).

so we should create new factions with space to expand !! also aragon would be copy of castille-leon, doesnt make sense add one more faction in iberian pen. !!

I voted for Sweden and Bohemia. and the reason I didn't put the " popular" factions, Aragon, Burgundy and Kievan rus were that they are almost copies. Instead of Aragon maybe Switzerland or Mali could be " western factions" but it is nice Scamander changed my mistake me likey.

Obviously people wants Georgia. 12 votes. Aragon is not going to be a faction, I will nag to stop it. Like a teenage girl if I have to!.

Thinking logically I forgot to say that the Caliphate of the Abbasid was the last muslim faction to be included in CAE.

Now,the next priority should be Georgia as still the Orthodox factions are still immensely outnumbered...

And after that the focus should be Catholic factions,among them I find Sweden most interesting as being a prominent late period power around the Baltic Sea...

My response-

I am very pleased to hear that Sweden seem to be the one most likely to join the game. I know, many of you might believe this is a mod focusing most on North and east Europe, tha fact is- It is the only possibility. Those playing the game must be doing it for the fun right? and the fun is the east, the west is overcrowded with factions, While east is still free.

Sweden will be a great headache to Denmark and Russia, and it will be great to play as them, it will be like Koj of the north

Georgia as orthodox faction sounds great, But recently I am starting to be interested in Armenia too, but heres the thing- Georgia is more rare than Armenia. making it unique.

and is there even any Islamic faction left to add? I mean, Volga-Bulgaria seem impossible and Mali? out of the question.



btw Zeph I need a link to your tutorial about adding regions to factions, I didn't find it myself.
