Sounds nice, can you show some pics please . My roman campaign has just started and I will show it later.
whookidd, why did you edit your post, I thought it was an OK length and I enjoyed reading about the progress of your empire.
If I have time later I'll post up a picture of my Pergamum campaign.
I'll edit this post for my Syracuse campaign later...
Altough, I've just managed to conquer all of Sicily... and Malta.![]()
Here is a screenshot of my current campaign:
The hardest part was pushing the Seleucid's back, luckily the Egyptians were also at war with them which made my job easier, I made Sparta a priority before the Greeks got there although they were embroiled in a war with Macedon and now me.
You can't see it in the screenshot, but I have Side, Lysimacheia, Athens and Kydonia under siege.
your screen is a bit small ^^
we really needed a thread like this, i love seeing other peoples progress
heres my empire, i have only really just started. H/M
The whole of italy will soon be mine, i have just finished Pyrrus, after a long game of cat and mouse through Italy, it all came down to one battle where i showed his troops a not so good time
i still need to take segesta and croton, croton is no problem but there is a number of large armies around segesta so that will be more difficult.
I will rewrite it again with more detail. I misspelled alot of things too.
I forgot how to paste pictures of my empire it has been over a year. Can someone please tell me? I will repost and show how my empire became so great.
Click on it and it will take you to a bigger version, I don't know how to have it display a bigger version on the forums; could someone point me in the direction of a guide on how to?
@Oli: Good luck taking Segesta
EDIT: I forgot to link the picture to a larger version, I'll upload it again in a minute.
EDIT2: It is now linked, although a full-size image would be better.
I think that you should put [IMG] in front and [/IMG] at the back of the address in the post, but maybe it's not.
Chesswolf, that's what I've done (and added [URL] tags for linking the image).
This is the code I'm using:
[ URL=http://img176.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pergamumcampprogress020lc3.jpg][ IMG]http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/9553/pergamumcampprogress020lc3.th.jpg[ /IMG][ /URL]
But obviously without the additional spaces.
Well I'm excited about this, I had a massive empire as Rome before the hotfix, and I decided to stray from that, but I had territories in Germania, Britannia, and of course I held all of Greece to Byzantium until the Ptolemies pushed me back (FYI, NEVER let them go 100 years without a war, as they push the Selucids back to Iraq, take out all of Asia Minor, and they crossed into byzantium with about a dozen stacks against two legions. By the time I was able to stop them, they had taken thrace, Macedonia, and were about to cut Greece off from Illyria and Italy, and I had to land three legions in Judea to get their attention elsewhere, where I then had to recruit a dozen more from those provinces just to hold them at bay. My treasury went from 400,000 to 40,000 in about twenty turns.)
Anyways, as Pergamum I have created a mediteranean empire of Trade, really, taking southern Greece (Attica and Lakonia), Crete, the entire agean coast on the eastern side, all the islands in the Agean, landed in North Africa with a large army of Pergamese Hoplites, Cretan Hoplites, Corinthian Hoplites, and a detachment of Spartans with all the trappings of war, taking all of the Ptolemie's cities to Thebes, and am planning my attack on Palestine now. I have maintained alliances with the Macedonains, Selucids, and Bophorans, and Armenians, and am attempting to push the Ptolemies into nothingness. Once I start taking more eastern settlements I'll give them to the Selucids, as I won't be able to maintain good order that far east.
I also took Segestica, to esablish good trade with the Romans, but I had a CTD a few turns later and hadn't saved since, so I abandoned that and decided on my North African Campaign, which is going swell, I might add. Fighting Hoplite-heavy armies as the Romans is rather difficult, as frontal tactics don't always work so well, but with Spartans, Pergamese, and Corinthian Hoplites and a few slingers, archers, and Pergamese Heavy infantry placed strategically on the flanks at fire at will mode make them die in droves.
Please buy SGTW2 and help a money hungry game company line their pockets and ensure another TW title with no modding, lacking even the basics of completion and make sure nobody makes them feel bad about it... it hurts their feelings and brings on lawsuits. Thanks.
That's aloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot of Denarii, Century X! If you're at war with Macedon, I'd suggest sailing around Greece with a legion or two and taking Byzantium, where you can enlist legions, and hitting them with a pincer movement. Then again, I'm kindof far out in my campaign strategies![]()

No what you just said is what I always do. But instead of 2 legions I send 5. But I try not to enlist legions from just recently conquered cities. I get them from Italy and northern Italy. So half the time my supply lines are thin so it makes it harder.
This was my Macedonian empire, before the hotfix. I had just started my assault on Carthage. I wanted to make the Romans a buffer state between me and the gauls. For that I just needed to keep an army on the bridge north of Rome, and the bridge north of Arminium.
Too bad it wasn't save game compatible. My current campaign as the Romans is only in 267 BC.
