Bayonet charge

A very noobish question: how do I make one? I have pressed all the damn buttons on my keyboard but still can't figure out how to make my men to stop shooting and switching to melee. My RTW Gold did not come with a manual and I don't remember that M2TW manual said anything about it (not that I read it that closely)

[Alt]-right (double) click will order your troops to engage in melee. Remember that the soldiers will have to finish their current animation cycle, so with reloading troops it may take a while before they start running. In such a case, the officers have a tendency to get ahead of their troops.
