Haha, well judging the number of Armenian troops deployed, this might be the battle which will decide the extinction or the future of the Armenian people. I'm sure they'll make Sparta proud!

Well its a custom battle, so sort of irrelevant. But if you want a back story, then lets just say history has taken a positive course for the Armenians and they have reclaimed their lands, built a mighty kingdom and now are rulers of North Iran. The Ghaznavids from the far eastern lands of Khorasan have launched a jihad seeking to crush the Christian invaders for the glory of Islam. Hows that for a backstory?

The reason I paired these two up is because, as you will see soon, the Ghaznavids have a powerful contingent of spears that will really give the Armenians a hard time.

As mirage says, we'll see in due time. If their cavalry merely waits for the infantry to weaken the spearmen, then Ghazni's heavy horse archers will have whittled away at ranks of both horse and foot soldier, so both groups cannot risk merely waiting for opportunity to present itself.
